I am finalizing the build of my second DIY project, and I am ready to mount the crossovers in my LCC. My other project (Adire 281 towers), came with hardware and I believe a designated spot to mount the crossovers, so my job was easy. My current project (Exodus LCR) didn't seem to come with...
I purchased the Exodus LCR probably over a year ago and I've never had the time/weather/tools to complete the project all at the same time. I am finally working towards completing it, and for the first time, I unboxed the crossovers.... come to find out, I have to solder the board! I have never...
I've been hearing about this at work, and the changes they seemed to boast were Security issues, Firewall, AutoUpdates, and Built in Pop-up Blocker. Personally, I'm tired of all the huge downloads just to be back to where I was. I'd turn off the firewall as soon as they turn it on, my auto...
Ok, I played, I'm back. Good news, I found that my Pioneer (SX-255r) receiver with nothing attached to it but 2 speakers and the computer input gives off almost no noise. There's still some noise when cranked, but even then, less than in scenario 2. An odd thing I discovered is that if I use...
by from the system you mean both HT and Computer? Hmm, I'll bring out my unused Pioneer system that I mentioned earlier. Ground lifting shouldn't be a problem, I just bought 2 of those adapters the other day in fact. I'll report back in about an hour! :D Brandon
Vince Maskeeper: yah, that's exactly what I'm experiencing. I've had this on two different setups: First setup was a Pioneer Receiver that has no video switching in old my dorm room at school. Even if all I had plugged in was the computer I still got the hum, but I don't think it was as loud as...
Ok, I'm a little upset. I just typed out a nice long description of the browser I use, MyIE2/Maxthon, but it was all lost because I can't post a stupid link. I think that's a bogus rule to have, but if it's truly necessary to have, the least this site could do is KEEP the post I was trying to...
I have a pretty nasty hum when I connect my computer to my HT receivers. I've tried hooking it up the following two ways: RadioShack coverter to RCA's Target adapter with built in ungodly long RCA's. Both of these give me an annoying amount of feedback. I am off at college and I use my...
the reason I was going towards the 320-z is because it can be had refirbed on HarmanKardon's site (under specials) for $300 instead of $700. I imagine that the 325's would be closer to the 700, right? What's the difference in the two really? Are you hinting that the 320-z may be oudated now...
good to know. So far other boards have recommended: Harman Kardon AVR 320-Z (the one I'm leaning towards currently) Denon AVR-1803 (can't find too much good info on it) and a few thousand dollar + ones  Perhaps I should start asking about the AVR 320-z then?
ouch, don't think I can afford a $400 amplifier so I'd rather get one that would be cheap and still suffice. My Pioneer right now suffices as far as power goes (IMO), but I need video switching and sub preouts. Can anyone recommend anything?
hmm, so your recommendation is to get a receiver w/out amp and buying or building my own? How much do stereo home amplifiers cost? I've only dealt with car audio until now so I'm totally new to what's available and what's not.
I know I don't post here (I lurk mainly), but I was hoping to get some input regardless. I have the Adire Kit 281's, and I love them. They are 4 ohm and I currently have the Pioneer SX-255r receiver now, but I want something that is at least 5.1 w/ audio and video switching, not just audio...
thx Ed, I'll look into it. Edit: It says it's only stable at 8 ohm. How do I know if it has a switch? Lew, I don't know how much want to/can spend. I have a lot of stuff I need to buy, but this is among the top of the list for me. I think over 200$ but not over 300$ would be ideal.
I tried making this thread yesterday and for some unknown reason it didn't go through... o well. Ok, I my current setup is: Cheap, Crappy TV Cheap, Crappy DVD Player (Daewooo) Cheap VCR Pioneer SX-255r Receiver () Adire Kit 281 Towers (Ported) PS2 NES 8-bit Nintendo my comptuer also...
