Over the past week I have noticed that the HD channels on my comcast box have been flickering as if the signal strength is bad. Does not happen with non-HD channels. Could this be an issue with my TV (Magnavox DLP)? Has anyone else who has Comacast in the Philadeplhia area seen this issue?

Is it true that this BD player will not play DVD -R disks?

That's the odd thing. Even the brand new NC85 I bought skips at the same exact places as the older one on the disks. I only find it odd because the issue does not occur on other machines (that are not HDMI) in the house.

That's what I thought, so I bought a new one and had the same problems. I did not mention that this was only on DVD -R disks recorded on my PC. Store bought DVDs have no problem.

I do notice a dramatic difference between standard digital cable channels and the HD channels. So, I should expect to see a similar or greater difference with the PS3?

With proper calibration, should I notice a drastice difference?

I actually purchased a new NC85 and have the exact same issue. When I play the same disk on my older panasonic dvd recorder, it plays fine. It also does not skip on my very old Sony single disk player?

Has anyone else come across this issue with the SONY 75/85H? It seems odd that a more inexpensive DVD player would have a better 480p picture than the more expensive (and somewhat highly regarded) Sony.

I switched it to 480i andthe jagged edges went away. The TV was already calibrated when the previous dvd player was hooked up. Is it normal for the 480i picture to be "better" than the 480p?

I currently own a Yamaha HTR-5650 receiver. The audio input for DVD is for an optical cable. Since I did not have one when I set things up, I used a coax cable hooked from the DVD to the CD input. Should this make any difference?

I was in BB yesterday and noticed that Sony has come out with a new line of bookshelf, center, and floorstanding speakers. I know that Sony does not have a great speaker history, but these are within my very tight budget. Does anyone have any opinions on these?

It's hard to describe, but ceratin portions of the picture, usually the darker areas, are what can best be described as pixelating. This has occurred with Donnie Darko, Crouching Tiger..., and The Ring in the past week. Can a DVD player just start doing this? Thanks for any help. :)

Recently I have begun noticing alot of pixels in the dark areas when watching a DVD. I own a Phillips 724 player and had never noticed this before. Is thi an issue with the player? Are there any options to correct this?
