    Multiple vents / length per...

Hi Colin, WinISD has two programs, beta and alpha pro. The alpha pro version will show the tuning graph. You must maintain port velocity below 5%. Port air velocity greater than 5% could add noise. So here is your answer (no port size or length is being said here). One port may need 5"...

    Sonotube Subwoofer Completed

Finished my sonotube subwoofer with an 8.9 cu ft enclosure and tuned to 17 hz. Modeled using WinISD and "Non-Boomy". I needed something to play having deep base, so I downloaded an 1812 Overture MP3. If you remember the cannons fire at the end of the symphony you could realize the power of my...

which quality bookshelf speakers for small theater?

Bookshelf speakers vary in driver sizes. Woofers 3.5" rarely have bass deeper than 100 hz. and need a sub-woofer. Most woofers 6.5" can get you to about 50 hz., and subwoofer is optional. Being on a budget, try to get bookself speakers with the 6.5" drivers.

    Flared port question(s)

Subtract the port volume if it is within the enclosure. It extending the port outside the enclosure, do not subtract the port volume for areas extending from encloser.

Stop the Bullsh~~ ! Chu Gai, you may know something about home theater but sh~~ about high school science. Come on now, let think this through. Air is a fluid it can be pumped, doesn't a subwoofer pump air in and out. Now stack air in a column.... No this is to hard for you to understand...

    Infinity, JBL, Boston?

I looked on the Boston Acoustic and Tweeter websights but could no longer find the CR7 or that series type speakers. I believe your the CR75's and CR7's are the same. The CR75's having upgraded grill covers. I liked them because they are not see through. Here is a pair of CR7's on ebay...

    Infinity, JBL, Boston?

Gianluca, I spent hours picking my components. I didn't care for the cr55/cr65 and found a huge difference the cr85's had over the cr75's. You won't always be listening in that small room, so buy the better speakers and lower the volume. My 7.1 system doesn't crack and often scares the...

    Infinity, JBL, Boston?

My Boston speakers are Great! Spend the money if you can. Don't buy the Boston Subwoofer PV400 (it's not powered). The PV600 is better for about $450, PV800 has design problems. If I don't build a subwoofer I'll buy the PV1000. My system includes: Sony STR-DA4ES Receiver Pioneer Elite...

    Magnetically Shielded Speakers

Thanks for the info, magnets of opposite polarity makes sense. Why does speaker box info have to be so secretive. LOL.... to keep HTF people from designing their on boxes.

    Magnetically Shielded Speakers

Really stupid question to follow. Are speakers built magnetically shielded or is some material put around them or around the inside of the speaker box? I am thinking of building a subwoofer speaker box and would like to know were to find plans. Will my Sony STR-DA4ES 7.1/100 watts per channel...
