At the University of Alberta where I attend, I'm taking a science fiction class (Comp. Lit 342) where the predominant theme is analysis of cyberpunk literature, and the film "Ghost in the Shell" will be shown. I never knew that my expensive hobby would become academic :)

I just watched The Talented Mr. Ripley the other day and was taken aback at how completely different in poise and bearing she was in that movie as compared to, say, Lord of the Rings. That's a mark of good acting.

Rob: Ebichu is indeed wonderful Gainax craziness, I recommend it to friends as the "anti-hamtaro" I can attest to the good value of the Korean Battle Royale 2-disc director's cut...with one caveat...the English subtitles in the extended scenes read like they were translated from Japanese...

I don't know, if indeed volume three mostly contains episodes done by Tsurumaki (I think he's the one who took over direction) I have to say I quite enjoyed them (the way overlong two-part recap episode aside) but then again, I'm as much a fan of Tsurumaki's work as Anno's.

Just as an experiment I decided to create a bebop movie cover that would match the series covers, so after a little fiddling in photoshop I came up with a 300dpi cover. The summary text has not yet been replaced, and I'm not very happy with the cover image, but tell me what you think so far...
