O.K. We all know the center speaker is most active in hometheater. The correct system for front should have all 3 speakers/amps to be same but in most hometheater systems its not. I was trying to save you some money but go head and get a 3channel amp.

I would buy 2 channel amp and drive the mains. Bigger amp will give you overall better sound.

TRY RESETING the whole system. Run only main speakers for while in stereo mode only. It seem like is from either front amp or microprocessor.

AVR320 & 520 all have SBR problem. YOU will only hear low hum from that channel on L7. I have 3 units with manufacture date of OCT/01,MAR/02, and SEP/02. Its not that big deal at all for price I got and sound quality. It also comes with 2 year warranty.

The close out price is $399.98 at FRYs. I have bought 3 units in one month for My self and friends.The last unit I got it for $349.98 no remote. They all have SBR problem in LOGIC7 mode. NO BIG deal really loosing one channel in the back.

I have Sony unit for 18 month and I drove cross country twice. It worked great and well worth the monthly fee. I have P.tech P1,P3& P/S combo at home. I wired sony to Pioneer CD recorder which in hooked up to P.tech combo. The sound is alot better than just hooking up to a preamp.

AVR-8000 has two processing chips.

Phillips Brandes has post on AVS. " I talked to Rick Jordan a product manager for AVR-7200 at H/K. He said 7200 has one processing chip and will not convert to L7 from D.D./DTS." H/K has two processing chips.

From H/K web site. AVR7200 will process 2.0 D.D. or 5.1 D.D. to 6.1 matrix D.D. . AVR-8000 does not do this. I also heard AVR7200 will not process 5.1 D.D./DTS to LOGIC7. AVR-8000 does this.

This unit did not sold well in retail stores. Sony has incorporated these functions into their new receivers. ( TWO 5.1 DVD-A/SACD inputs on many Sony receivers) It was sold on ebay mostly few month ago but I have not seen any lately.

Kenwood VR-6070 is at 90W each all channels drives according to S/Vision MAG. Its good for hometheater but not recommanded for Audio.

I have HDTV STBOX and I use D.D. OR PLII processing throhgh optical output. I also have AT&T cable which is analog RCA stereo and I use H/Ks LOGIC6. Digital inputs sounds better using Dolby processing. analog inputs sounds better using LOGIC6 on AVR520 I do not use internal amps at all.

H/K has problem on some units of 320/520 receivers. this only applies to 7.1 setup. surround back right pre out on these unit does not send out all the info. like S.b.left. Only low FREQ. This in in Logic7 mode which should be 7 independent channels.

I rechecked H/K web site and it does not have 7.1 pre in for internal amp use like AVR520. It was great selling point for avr520. It does have one(7.1) DVD-A/SACD input.

Whats wrong with Kenwood VR-6070. 7 pre outs, THX select.

My mistake 525 only has pre outs. 520 has both. Since It has 7 channel amp built in this feature is no longer need it. I wish it bad it because I could have used for 2nd room applications

I would spend 60% on speakers and source(cd or dac) 40% on pre/pro or receiver I tend to change pre/pro or receiver more than speakers.

Logic 7 always had problem of leaking some of the information to other channels going back to CP-1(non logic7) and DC-1 (logic-7). H/K Logic 7 will produce this problem more than LEX processors. Its common problem of logic7 but they are getting better.
