    Basement Theater problem?

Neil, What do you mean by, "too much keystone correction"? I unfortunately had to mount mine lower then I wanted, on the ceiling inside a window seat in order for it to project big enough to fill my whole screen. I have to have the projector tilted up quite a bit, which caused a fairly...

    Hanging the screen/weight issue

Thanks for the input everyone. I called Stewart and they said that those anchors are more then sufficient (not that they were real excited to help or informative, although, I admit there is little reason for the biggest and best cinema screen manufacturer to really care). I agree with everyone...

    Hanging the screen/weight issue

I just got my 92" stewart screen today. I think it's going to work out great with the exception of one thing I'm a bit worried about. The box says it weighs 48 pounds. Now, the instructions just say to mount it according to your needs. Real helpful you know. Anyway, they provide four anchors(...

Bookshelf speaker for a center? Newbie needs info :).

if your other speakers are book shelf speakers too, that would be good. If you have larger or different speakers for the left and right channels, then its questionable. My current system has two bigger speakers for the left and right, and then a small JBL center channel and the dialogue...

    Projectors... CRT, DLP.... Questions

For DLP projectors, definetly look at the NEC line, the HT1000 was suggested--also look at the LT260. The HT1000 is an amazing machine, but lumens might be a bit low for your throw distance, something to check into. The LT260 has a really strong bulb, you would be sacraficing a bit of...

    FPTV vs RPTV

I just got my NEC LT240 projector. BTW, according to the instructions it can be used to project both front and rear (maybe they all can, i don't know). With front projection you definetly have to get the light in the room down, if you can do that, it's just incredible. My first night I ended...

    Energy C-5 or B&W 603 S3

Just a note on hooked on tronics. I bought my c5s from there. They have great deals. But they arn't "authorized" to sell Energy speakers cause their prices are so low, which means the warranty is void. but the store provides a 90 day warranty of their own. I personally think it's worth it.

    Center channel

I've been a little worried about whether or not you can get them individually. I bought my first two from "hooked on tronics" online, good prices. It looks to me like they allow for a purchase of one but I'll probably call first. Hopefully I'll be getting my amp soon so I can say how much I...

    Speaker wire

Thanks everyone for the input. I ended up buying the 12 guage home depot stuff. Quick question for Paule Gere; you say the 12 AWG is cl-2 rated? Do you know if at the various stores they sell more then one kind of 12 gauge wire? The stuff I bought is clear. I didn't see any of the "in...

    Center channel

I have Energy c5 speakers I've bought for front channels. I'm going to be using a projector and screen, so I don't need the center channel to be shielded. What I'd like to do is just get a thrid c5 and use for the center channel. Anyone see anything wrong with that? Also, as far as a...

    Speaker wire

I need to wire my room for speakers, I have energy c5's in the front and a denon amp, so just midgrade stuff. The runs will be about 15-20 feet at the most through the walls and cieling. I'm going to be real careful not to get them too close to electrical wires. The question is, what cable...

    Screen issues

I have a number of questions about buying a screen for an HT that I'm 'building'. The room I have is small, the wall I'd be projecting on is 9.5 feet and it's 11.7 feet deep. My first pass plan would be to try to fit an 8 foot screen. This gives about 34 to 43 degree viewing angles in the...

Energy C-5& C-7, what else should I look at?

I just got back from "Good guys" (ok, don't laugh)and listened to "Energy" speakers for the first time. I was very impressed; since I just may be easily impressed, I'm interested in what others here think about the Energy line, particularily Energy skeptics. I thought they sounded better then...
