sorry, I forgot to post link and price. On your budget, the 57hx83 looks more realistic. MSRP is $2699, but you can easily get one for $2100-$2300 at some store. toshiba 57hx83
Try calibrating your system with AVIA home dvd setup. I had a similiar problem with my RP toshiba tv before, and after Avia I learned that contrast, brightness and a few other settins are all linked together. After spending about 2 hours with Avia, I was able to find the perfect settings and my...
Hi, I was looking at a samsung DLP online and they have a technology that is DNle. What is this? I hear that it can upconvert several signals so that they look better. Is this true? Does anyone out here have an experience with this technology. thanks
The viewing angle on the samsung DLP's is about 160 degrees. Just visit there website, SAMSUNG DLP , and look at the full line brochure for all the details. And another thing, if you match this tv with it's matching samsung HD DVI output dvd player, everything is fantantic. Go to a local...
I personally prefer DTS because it's more clear. You have to listen to the DTS ES track on the Two Towers extended edtion. Any Lord of the Rings dvd has an awsome DOLBY DIGITAL and DTS on the extended version, both are good.
Hm, I really like the Samsung DLP's and they have a wide viewing angle. I think the 43" or 46" might fit your budget, check it out on the samsung website.
thanks for the reply Does this mean you have your cinema filter on? I turned it on for the first time yesterday, and I guess it did help with minimizing the screeches and high pitched stuff.
Hi, if you have an onkyo or integra receiver, are you using the cinema filter option? I'm not too clear on what it does, but can someone please clarify it for me. Also, are you using it? thanks
Can someone tell me what DNR is? According to the manual it is some digital noise reduction for poor signals, which I have for my basic cable. If I enable it, will it have an effect when watching dvd's through component video, becuase if you enable it say on video 1, it stays on 'auto' from...
Hi, i'm a satisfied toshiba 57hx81 customer, and this is the first time I'm revisiting HD televisions since i bought the toshiba 2 years ago. I'm just wondering what the key differences are between the 57hx81 and the new 57hx83. thanks
I'm an owner of an integra dtr 5.3 receiver. It's awsome. My dealer also recommended it to me, and after much search on the net I couldn't find much. I came in for an audition along with my friends sony, and the integra was noticeably better. Integra's are also usually only sold through...
i'm an owner of an integra dtr 5.3. Buy it, it is amazing and is a good bang for the price. They compare these integra's to higher end receivers. I'm not so much of an audio expert, but I will tell you that I trusted my ears on my decision for the dtr 5.3 and I've never looked back since.
onkyo integra just released the new series for 2004, with the X.4, last years was the X.3 anyway, i was interested in the dtr 5.3, which is last years model because it is on a great clearence price. Does anyone know anything about this receiver. It has everything i need, such as dts es and...
On the back of my subwoofer, I just noticed that there is a switch called 'crossover slope switch', which can be set to either -12dB or -24dB. Which should I keep it too. If you need any info on my theater it's as follows: Integra DTR 5.3 receiver kenwood 10" subwoofer A room that measures...
hm interesting, how will that field number you stated help my overall subwoofer power and sound? p.s. thanks for moving the topic here, i didn't realize until now that i had posted this in display
Hi, I'm currently using one rca wire from the back of the subwoofer to the receiver. I do have 2 rca connections on the back of the subwoofer and my friend told me to buy a y-cable, and then to connect that to a subwoofer cable that is hooked to the receiver. Should I do that? Will is make...
Sorry I forgot to add something. If you're looking to upgrade your 600, my suggestion would be to wait. Because if you're looking for sound quality that is richer/warmer you'll have to spend a handfull of cash. And besides, the 600 is great and you can always activate cinema filter if the sound...
My speakers aren't great, they are SEL towers(sony), paradigm center, SEL rear center, and fluance rears. I noticed a difference between 6.1 on the 600 and 6.1 on the integra. Also, the integra dtr 5.3 was about the same sound quality as the 700. I also tried dvd audio and all three receivers...
SR600, because it has dolby digital ex and dts es, i don't know if the 1603 has dolby digital ex. if you've read bad reviews and don't want eh sr600, i would highly recommend looking up the line from onkyo to the Integra series, and choose the integra dtr 5.3. It has identical specs to the...
hi, I'm interested in buying either the RM-AV3000 or RM-AV2100, which are both from sony. I know that you can just use your fingers to use this remote, but can you also use a stylus pen? thanks
