I found that the calibration with the MCCAC was hotter than when I used the AVIA disc. I am not sure the reason, but I am able to comfortably watch DVD's at -15/-10 with the AVIA calibration. With the MCCAC I was watching dvd's around -25/-20.
I am only running 2 for now. When we move into a bigger house I will purchase a pair of E80's for mains, move the E30's to surround and the E10's to the rear.
Do you have any more info on the downloadable excel sheets and correction values? I used the RS SPL to setup my system, but didnt take any of this into account... Thanks
For those of you putting the E30's on stands, what stands are you using? FYI...I am very pleased with my EC35, E30, E10 combo. The E10's are mounted about 2.5' above ear level on the wall directly behind the coach that is centered to the TV. The coach is pushed against the wall, so I know...
auto MCCAC or Avia? What do you guys prefer? I started by using the auto MCACC, but have since tuned the receiver with Avia. I havent went back to auto MCACC for a comparison, yet...
Based on my needs I am guessing that the Xantech 291 IR Distribution Kit should work in my situation. It will only be controlling the DVD player, CD player, receiver, and the satelite box. Awesome, thanks for the input. :)
I would like to move my HT gear into the room behind the wall that it is at now. This will allow me to "clean up" the wall that the TV, front speakers, and ent. stand currently share. I am pretty sure that the cables I have now are long enough to make it on the other side of the wall. My...
My setup consists of: Pioneer 1014 Jbl-Ec35 Jbl-E30's Jbl-E10's Sony-Wm40 coming soon....SVS-PCI 20-39 I am very pleased the with sound of the speaker/receiver combo. I just wish that I could figure an easier way to adjust the individual db of the speakers. I guess that I need to read...
When you setup your speakers for reference level, do you: a) Just use the recievers built in setup? b) Use Avia and a Radio Shack SPL meter? I initially setup the speakers by using the built in setup of the receiver. In which I assumed that the reference level was going to be '0'...
I would not say that money is stopping me, but I would save money with the pb10 over the 20-39. I am just always under the impression that bigger and more money is better, but the pb10 seems to be winning a lot of people over. Makes me wonder if it is worth the extra coin for the 20-39 or not...
Man, I am trying to tell myself that I want to wait and go with the PCI-20-39, but I keep reading these awesome threads about the Pb10. I am replacing a Sony-WM40, so I know that either will be fine over what I have now. My room is around 12x16 and is open to the hallway and dining area. I do...
Well guys. Im not sure that my speakers are up to par (Old Sony HTIB speakers) for the Pio-1014, so I placed the order for the following: Jbl-Ec35 Jbl-E30's Jbl-E10's I already have the Sony WMA40 sub. Do you think this sub will be okay with this speaker setup? I plan on using the...

I missed this one. I would go that route, but my dvd player, game system, and Voom box all require optical cables. No digital coaxil connections on these products. :frowning:
I didnt realize that the receiver did the upconversion. For now I will connect it to the optical input on Video 2, but I think that I will have to do this everytime I want to play, because I dont really like the look of it with the cable in front of it the entire time. So far, so good for the...
Well, I havent returned the Onkyo yet, but I did pick up the Pioneer today and its set up now. Going to watch a few movies/dvd's with it and switch back. See which I like more. The downside with the Pioneer is that I have 3 optical digital sources and the unit only has 2 optical connections...
Thanks for the imput so far guys. I know that there is no right or wrong answer, but after reading a couple of threads about the Pio I decided that it may be worth it to go ahead and return the Onkyo. As it sits right now, the reciever that I purchase will be the source for my HT for the next...
I have not done any research at all on recievers lately, but I picked one up from the local Circuit City today. I picked up the Onkyo 602 and it is a great improvement over the Sony that it replaced. However, once I got home and started reading reviews, it appears that I should have went to BB...
Aurel... I struck a deal. They let me use the 10% off coupon so I picked up the TOS-42H82 for 1349 with 0% financing. They didnt have any in stock, so im not able to pick the TV up until the 16th, but im sure that I will be more than happy when I do get it. I also changed my mind about DVD...
Thanks guys. I picked up the Sony Component cables today and I have a 3' Monster optical cable as well. The HDTV shows up on Thursday. I sure hope after break in that I am very pleased with the PQ. :)
Any games that I "must" have to enjoy the hookup even more?

Just wanted to thank you guys for helping me choose the first piece of my home theatre. :) I also purchased 6' of AR component video cable, Playstation 2 component video cable, and an audio rack all for $1575 w 0% financing for 18 months. They didnt have any of the TV's in stock, but pickup has...
Our local Best Buys have 18 month 0% financing on TV's $299+ right now. I planned on waiting until Friday when the 10% coupon was good to get the TV. Does anyone know if I should even bother with waiting and trying to use the coupon? Ill go get the TV now if im going to be denied with the...
I received the 10% coupon in the mail. It is part of a special "preferred customer" weekend for the days of Jan 10-13. The only problem is that the back of the coupon says "not valid with any other offer." Im not sure if they will let me use this with the 18 month 0% financing offer or not...
