This link provides a bit more detail about the set's contents. It's good to see that Madeline Kahn's episode will be included. I suspected it would be, but it's nice to have confirmation.
I agree. For $200, it doesn't seem like too much to ask to know which fifty episodes we're getting.
I certainly hope so, although the marketing angle that this set has been assembled to include all of Carol's favorite material might make it a bit tricky. ("The Carol Burnett Show Ultimate...
Speaking of music issues, I just watched the episode "Murray Takes a Stand," in which Murray becomes irate and tells off the station's new owner when the movie "Animal Crackers" airs on WJM and the song "Hurray for Captain Spaulding" has been cut.
And the portion of that very scene in which...

While I understand and empathize with the desire to see these bumpers on these sets, their exclusion in no way makes the set "incomplete" in the traditional sense of the word. I don't know of any American television series that has been released on DVD with commercial bumpers contained...
Funnily enough, last night I happened to be watching the Steve Martin episode on disc 2 of SNL: Season 2. It included a MTM sketch, in which Ted accidentally kills Mary.
It's not their job to care about us. They're not our Mom, they're a business. Their job is to release product. If we want it, we buy it; if not, we don't. That's as far as it goes. You have to acknowledge, though, that the easiest thing for Fox to do, by far, would be to let the last three...
I'm not so sure Fox rethinking their plans is going to allow you to do that, though. Given what we know about the situation from a business and financial standpoint, it seems far more likely that Fox rethinking their plans simply means no release at all.
You're going to find this hard to believe, but there's nothing unethical about releasing in its entirety a product that has been partially released in the past. Absolutely nothing. At all.
There's another possibility. It has been suggested several times in this thread that a Complete Series might be the most profitable option because it may well be the only type of release that retailers who have been burned on this show before are willing to stock.
I suspect that if Fox didn't care about the goodwill of their customers, they would simply have left the last three seasons of this show on the shelf to collect dust until the end of time. Would that have been better?

Good news. I know there's no reason to expect any special features, since there weren't any on season three... but wouldn't it be nice to get an audio commentary on "The Lars Affair" with Cloris Leachman and Betty White?
JohnAD: I got to preview the first disc of Chrono Crusade at Animefest this past weekend, and it was great. Definitely one that's going to be worth collecting.
Well, as evidenced by John's list, a lot of shows started up in '03 and are finishing up (or are already finished) this year. He already mentioned Chobits, Haibane Renmei, and Last Exile, three great shows, and I'd add Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi to the list. As for series that have...
Haven't seen this reported here: Maison Ikkoku Box #4 will be out before the end of the year (November, I believe), but it will apparently only be sold through the Viz website and www.rightstuf.com.
My first recommendation would have been Martian Successor Nadesico, if it weren't about to be rereleased. This one has it all: great characters, a great story, and a LOT of comedy. For some reason, I am compelled to recommend Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi. I know you found the first few...
I enjoyed "Chobits" and "Love Hina," and am currently enjoying "Marmalade Boy." Another series along these lines that I wholeheartedly recommend is "Maison Ikkoku."
July 6 is shaping up to be a pretty big day... -Ai Yori Aoshi: Enishi, Vol. 1 -Boys Over Flowers, Vol. 6 -Devil Lady, Complete Collection -Nadia Collection, Vol. 2 -Nuku Nuku TV, Vol. 4 And that's just the stuff I know for SURE I'm getting.
Silver Streak has been mentioned several times, but I'll be more than happy to mention it again. Speaking of which: The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother and The World's Greatest Lover. Why Fox has been sitting on these Gene Wilder classics for so long is beyond me. Finally, a...
Alanna, if I were you I would go ahead and take the plunge on "Gals!" It's a great, hilarious show that is well worth your time and money. As for the brick potential, it should be noted that the six discs currently in release only represent half of the series, as there is a second season that as...
