I have the Rotel RSP-1066/RMB 1095 combo driving CDM 9NTs /Nautilus HTM 2. The sub I am using is a Paradigm Servo-15. I think the combo is awesome for HT I do not use it for SACD at all. Kris
O.k This discussion seems to have gone from which driver should I get to is the SVS Ultra better than a sub using the Tumult. This would be a wrong comparision IMO. The ultra driver is 579.00 plus shipping. The Tumult is 469.00 shipped. I believe that you could build a single Tumult Sub with...
The sound king is a good deal. For video cables buy good coaxial cables and make your own....there will be no problems. The DIY forum may have more info.
Kelly, I cannot comment on the speakers but for a Subwoofer from these two companies. I definately preferred the Paradigm Servo-15 over any of the DTech subs I listened to at the B&W dealer(Also a deftech dealer). Good Luck!!
I am sure the NHTM2 will be a perfect match. I am running the HTM2 center with CDM 9NTs. Its a nice match. My center is below the TV so the CDM CNT would have been too big. Anyway it is very nice that your dealer is allowing you to trade up.
I am a big fan of running movies. Prefontaine, Chariots of fire, Endurance etc. Wanted to see if there are other running fans here and what movies they have on DVD. Kris.
Jon, I had the MicroSystem 9500 as before I listened to the B&W 600 series speakers. The micro satelites can only produce sounds upto 120Hz(Rated). This does leave a very big gap if your used to satelite speakers that go down to 80Hz or lower. You can actually sense something amiss when...
If you are into music look at the Vandersteen subs they are nice and not as costly as the ones you mentioned. I have a paradigm servo-15 its a pretty good sub in its own right. I hear they have a Servo-25 due this year ..I don't think it uses a 25 i n driver though. Good Luck, Kris.
The 800 and 2400 watts mentioned are "Peak" power that does'nt mean jack!! Klipsch tries to sell subwoofers by posting peak numbers and further more by actually saying that that's what matters. Deplorable!! aaron, definately seeing some honda boy traits here!!
The B&W 602S3s are a good speaker in this range they should run you $540 a pair after a 10% discount. Listen for yourself. I had them as fronts as well for a month and decided to upgrade to the 604s for a Subwoofer less 2-Ch operation. However the 602S are not bad at all for fronts.
I listened to the Vandersteen Reference 5s and they sounded Awesome(They were being driven thru really nice(& Expensive at 4K each)BEL mono block amplifiers). We were listening to the Telarc SACD-60561. Shostakovich Symphony No. 5 Tchaikovsky Romeo & Juliet Fantasy overture. Lorin...
I have upgraded to the RMB-1095 and am selling this. The RMB 1075 was purchased on 11/04/02 and was only used after 11/12/02 since I did'nt get the RSP 1066 delivered until then. The RMB-1075 is in excellent condition. I have the original double boxes, manual etc. This retails for 999.00 and...
For the price of a REL Storm III. You can get a wood veneer Paradigm Servo-15. It does'nt blend as well as the Rel does for music but it's definately better than going with a Velo HGS-10. I wanted to buy a Storm III, however it just does'nt have the "Oomph" needed for a movie experience. I...
Andy, I was in the same situation a few months ago. I wanted to get either the B&Ws or the Paradigm Studios(I was getting a 10% discount on both). I went with B&Ws. What ever you decide to get. If your primary use is HT. I would suggest that you get the best subwoofer possible. A good...
Dan, The 9500 system is good!! I had it for two months(9000 for a month and the 9500 for a month..these are pretty much the same except for the bigger sub) before deciding to go with the B & Ws. The B & Ws sounded much better in comparision. If space is a consideration then this is a very...
This brings up an interesting question. If I have a Woofer that moves enough air to create a 40Hz wave at a particular Sound level in a room of particular volume, will this Woofer "theoritically" extend to 20Hz in a room 1/4 the volume and produce the same sound level? Kris.
Brae, The dealer I had purchased it from did'nt have any other Servo-15s at this warehouse just the floor model. Does your dealer have a good return policy? Kris
Wayne, I am with you 100%. The Servo-15 is more than enough for a 3000 cu.ft room. The reason I went with the servo 15 was because I've had a lot of ported subs before this one...I was sure that with the PW2200 I would have the same issues. Not having owned it or even auditioned it, I did...
Tom, That is an interesting point. Looks like both the subs are very close in performance from a dB standpoint. However the Servo extends lower and in a 3000 Cu ft room can produce at the listening position at usual movie volumes. 59 on the rotel preamp, half on the x-30 and the Servo-15. The...
