Okay, my SVS isn't working. :(

Update: I got in touch with Tom from SVS via e-mail, and he had me run through some tests on my subwoofer to determine whether it was an amp or woofer problem. It turned out to be my amp, so they said they would send me a new one, along with instructions on how to install it. This was on...

Okay, my SVS isn't working. :(

They helped me diagnose the problem as the Amp, and they're sending a new one out Monday. Now if I can just install it without botching the operation, I'll be set. A big thanks to SVS for their service. I'll report back next week when the repair is (hopefully) completed. Until then, I'll just...

Okay, my SVS isn't working. :(

Sorry about that. I sent the e-mail to the right address, but I typed it in wrong here. It hasn't been the best day, and I'm a little scatter-brained right now.

Okay, my SVS isn't working. :(

My apologies; you replied to last night's e-mail from a different SVS address, and I had replied to that address. I just forwarded the e-mail to the [email protected] address.

Okay, my SVS isn't working. :(

Okay, thanks a lot guys. I guess I need to go do something to distract myself until I hear back from them.

Okay, my SVS isn't working. :(

I did send a second e-mail. I'm just in that anxious stage where I'm freaking out, so even a reasonable reply time seems like it takes ages. That sub is my second favorite part of my home theater, beat out only by my TV. The only reason my TV wins is because I can't watch movies without it...

Okay, my SVS isn't working. :(

I noticed no sound was coming out of my PB1-ISD, so I looked at the back of the sub and the power light was off. I e-mailed SVS, and Tom suggested replacing the fuse. Radio Shack was closed by that point, but I picked up some new fuses this morning. With high hopes, I stuck the new fuse it...

Do I really need a "Subwoofer" labeled interconnect? Or...

I think I'm just going to stick with the Phillips digital coaxial cable. Like I said, I bought it back when I had a DVD player that could use it. Neither of my XP30's have a digital coax output, and my X-Box doesn't either. I might as well put it to use on my subwoofer.

Do I really need a "Subwoofer" labeled interconnect? Or...

I've now tried the digital coaxial (Philips) and the audio interconnect (Monster) cables. I've notice no difference with either. I also didn't notice any difference compared to a Acoustic Research subwoofer cable, either.

    Philips / Wal-Mart cable weirdness

Ok, thanks. It's pretty weird to think this company manufacturers so many different brands.

Do I really need a "Subwoofer" labeled interconnect? Or...

Bumping this thread because I have a similar question: I need a short (less than 3 ft.) subwoofer cable; that's pretty hard to find, especially for a reasonable price. I have a spare Monster Interlink 300MKII (audio interconnect cable) sitting around. Is there any reason it won't work as a...

    Philips / Wal-Mart cable weirdness

I'm a little confused here... For my bedroom, I recently picked up a few cables (S-Video and Component) from Wal-Mart. The cables are made by Philips, and they seem to be part of Philips "Gold Series." The weird part is this: they don't have the black tubing like most of Philips stuff. They...

    SVS to Canada?

UPS may not ship to PO boxes, but they will ship to Mailbox Etc. (and other similar boxes). If you set up a mailbox at your local UPS Store, for example, they'll accept US Mail, FedEx, and UPS all at one box. It's very useful.

MX-500 for me as well... I've got two now. My old Pronto is in storage, except when I want to teach my MX-500 discrete codes.

Question regarding Monster's Connected Equipment Warranty

For those who care, this is the e-mail response I got back today: Which warranty I'd be covered under is purely academic (since either $50,000 or $250,000 would both be more than enough to totally replace all my equipment).

Question regarding Monster's Connected Equipment Warranty

I've sent them an e-mail, as I'd at least like to get something in writing on the issue. I'm still waiting on a response from them. I'll post it when they reply. I was just curious whether anybody had run into the issue before, or (even better) if anybody had filed a claim with a similar...

Question regarding Monster's Connected Equipment Warranty

First, a pre-emptive statement to Chu Gai: With no disrespect intended, I'm well aware of your feelings regarding Monster products, as well as your feelings that people would be better served by buying separate insurance. I'd really like to stick to the question presented here rather than having...

    FS: Pioneer DV-AX10

I noticed in your Audiogon ad that you charge a surcharge for accepting PayPal... you might want to rethink that. Surcharges are against PayPal's rules, and they've been known to side with buyers in disputes on that basis alone. If somebody bought your item then disputed the charge, you could be...

    Denon 3805... Turn in 3803???

I currently have the 3803... do you guys think I would be better off upgrading to a 3805 or adding an Outlaw 7100 amp instead?

Question regarding trigger jack between receiver/amp

Hi, I'd just like to make sure I understand something correctly. I currently have a Denon 3803, which has a trigger jack on the back. If I buy an Outlaw 755 or 7100 amplifier, I would just need to run a cable between the trigger jack on the back of my 3803 and the amplifier. After that, when...

    Gateway Country Stores

They're blowing out plasma TVs in at least some of their stores. My local store sold out of all their plasma and lcd TVs within two hours on Friday; the salesman said the 50" TVs went for $2000, and the 42" for just over $1000. The only thing they had left at the store was one 50" screen that...

Looking for the best "bang for the buck" HD picture tube TV

You might want to look for a 40" Sony; it's a 4:3 TV, but its widescreen mode is the same size as a 34" 16:9 TV. You can find the old model ( KV40XBR700 ) cheap, and you might be able to find the new model ( KV40XBR800 ) for a good price. The 800 has a DVI input, while the 700 doesn't.

RP91 vs. RP62 for den setup

Both my TVs are 4:3. 99% of my TV usage is regular cable television, so a 16:9 really wasn't something I wanted.

RP91 vs. RP62 for den setup

What exactly does that mean? I'm not sure I understand (in fact, I'm sure I'm unsure. :) )
