    Projector replacement deliema

Hi Guys, I have a Optoma HD20 that was recently fried by lightning. I want to replace it with something in the sub $1000 range preferably around $600, The problem I've run into is that a lot of the new projectors I found are short throw vs the longer throw of the HD20. I don't want to relocate...

    Infocus 4805 troubleshooting, bad bulb?

Hi guys, I have been using an Infocus 4805 projector for several years. Last night I turned it on and about a 1/4 of the image was very dim. Between the normal area of the image and the dim area is a slight rainbow. The dim area almost looks like there is something semi transparent blocking the...

Question on how to use old drive in speakers for 7.1 rear channels on 6.1 system

Haha, Glad to be the first. They are a single driver design. I tore into them today. They contain 4" drivers. It looks like the max depth would be around 2.375". I've been browsing partsexpress.com trying to find the perfect match, now that I know that 4 ohms is the way to go, that will help...

Question on how to use old drive in speakers for 7.1 rear channels on 6.1 system

First off I want to say Hi. I haven't posted or even lurked here for along time. I got my theater setup several years ago and have been enjoying it. I haven't upgraded to blue ray yet, but I can start to feel the bug biting. Here's my latest situation...I have some old drive in theater speakers...

    Frank's Home Theater

Thanks, I got a pretty good deal on the seats. I got twelve of them for $5 each. The cool part is they are from my home town theater. Besides the ones I bought and two others, all the other seats in the theater were scraped for new ones. So it's kinda cool to have the last few remaining seats...

    Frank's Home Theater

Thanks. The center speaker is actually sitting on a old military ammo box. The speaker is black and doesn't show up well in the picture. The center speaker has the same size footprint as the ammo box. The top of the speaker basically lines up with the bottom of the screen when you are looking...

    Frank's Home Theater

Hi guys (and gals), I read posts here fairly often, but don't post all that much. I have learned a ton off this site and I wanted to share what I have done with everyone. Let me know what you think. I am mostly finished with my theater. As you can see by the pics, I still need to do some trim...

Are there any DVD recorders with built in OTA HD tuners?

LOL, I'll forgive you for the sarcasm. I'll also forgive you for not knowing that there is a ATSC tuner on Amazon for $170. I am just looking for a DVD recorder with a HD tuner. It doesn't have to be under $200, but that would be nice. I looked around for a recorder on the net awhile. I...

The ONE and ONLY *OFFICIAL* STAR WARS (Original Trilogy) DVD REVIEW THREAD!

I bought A New Hope last night. It looks acceptable to me, so I am going to buy the other two. My question is...I was thinking of selling the new versions that come as Disc 1 in the set as I have already purchased them in the 2004 box set. Is there any difference between the new disc and the one...

What is a Mits 55805 worth?

Hi I sold a my Mitsubishi 60" standard def TV last year. It was about 4 years old at the time. I got $1000 out of it. It was in perfect shape. Just about everyone on this site told me I couldn't get $300 for it. You just have to find someone willing to pay what you are asking. I'm not saying...

Looking for old post with pics of SV subs

Hi I was telling my friend about SV Subs last night. I don't think he got the point of how big and how awesome they are. I remembered a thread with pictures of a lot of peoples subs. I think a lot of the pictures were showing off the finishes on the subs. I did searches and looked back a few...

    Running Wires Along Ceiling

Hi I bought the exact same projector a few months ago. I love it. I mounted mine on the ceiling. Ideally I would've ran the cables above the ceiling and down the inside of the walls to the audio rack. Unfortunately that was going to be a ton of work because of the finished ceiling and the...

Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)

Grant, Instead of Obi wan & Anikin double teaming Palpatine. It could have been Yoda and Obi wan against Anikin then they could have went after the emperor together. Of course that would have ruined the next 3 films.

    InFocus 4805 TVAuthority Q&A

At the moment I am casting a 102" image on my wall. I sit back 14' from the projected image. Occasionally I can see the screen door effect. It is usually on bright white parts of a scene or when there is subtitles or text on the screen. Rob, what kind of screen/wall are you projecting onto...
