I thumbed through the user manual when I was in the store but I did not see anything on chips they use. In fact very little on internal features. They have 80Hz crossover.. For bass management they let you select large, small, none for front, surround, center and sub.. I think it said that the...
I saw the new Marantz dv6400 at a dealer's on Wed. He was just hooking it up. List price is $600. He said he would probably be selling it for 540. Did not get chance to hear much and he was going to break it in for a few days. It DVD A and SACD but I don't know much more than that.
I'm not sure about the SR14 but on my Marantz I have a number of digital inputs and also multichannel analog inputs. The analog inputs are what you are suppose to use for SACD DVD/A. YOu need to hook it up with RCA connectors
Thanks guys, I guess I'll call the guy that sold me the receiver and see if I can get the estimate.. If it seems high I see if I can talk him into some "overtime"
I'm in the last stages of setting up a home theater system. For the front speakers and sub I can just run the wires along the front wall and they are mostly hidded by the speakers, audio cabinet and TV.. But for the surround, I want to run the wires through the wall - down to my unfinished...
I bought an Onkyo HTIB for my son for Christmas for about $600. No DVD player. Sounds surprising good on movies, and XBOX.. poor for CD's. Reciever, as I recall was about 75 - 80W.. Nice thing about Onkyo is that each of the units is a regular component sold by Onkyo. So if you want you can grow...
thanks. Yesterday I ran it for several hrs on CD's. Not too loud. No problem. Then when I played Matrix it died. I think the subwoofer is shaking it up... Maybe I can get Paradigm to pay for the new player..
My DVD (Apex) is starting to act up. Couple years old and has always run great. Now, after it plays for a while it just dies.. The power light goes out, can even eject the DVD. Then after it sits for a few hrs things are ok. Any ideas what this could be.. Should I just head out to get a new one?
I have back of 100's about 18 inches from back wall and side about 2' side wall. Also have them toed in. At one point I had them about 1 ft from side wall and the bass sounded boomy.
One more thing. I saw that Marantz has announced in Europe an upgrade to the 8200, you can see it if you look at European web site. One of the things it fixes is the 2 sec delay when switcing tracks.. Auppose to be coming to states soon. Make sure you get that
I purchased 8200 and studio 100's in Jan. Couldn't be happier.. No problem driving the speakers even at levels I would not normally listen at. Most of my time is with CD's but movies are equally incredible. Buy and enjoy..
Yes, have the speakers set to small. The sub works it just wasn't as loud as I thought it should be My real concern is how to calibrate the sub. Should I set the sub to max volume so that I am using all the range of the sub and then set the volume on the X-30 down to make sure it is all...
Just got the Servo-15 hooked up to my system. Followed the instructions to set the sub volume to mid way and then used the volume control on the x-30 control unit to calibrate the system. It also ended up about mid way.. But when I tried some movies, I felt bass was way too soft. I moved the...
I agree that the 100's and the servo give you overlap, but if sound quality is the key I found the 100's to have a better midrange than the 60's. Was easy to hear in A/B testing.
Marantz 8200 receiver.. THX select certified... I think The bass peak setting is used to limit the the max output sent to speaker. Currently I do not have a sub so all bass goes to front speakers.. The other setting CINEMA- REEQ is suppose to be on when listening to Dolby Digital...
I am getting ready to calibrate my system for the first time. My receiver has a CINEMA RE-EQ feature which if set on reduces some of the excessive brightness / harshness of film tracks. Should I have that on when I calibrate? Also there is a bass peak level setting. Should I do anything with...
I have the Marantz 8200 and Paradigm 100's.. They sound amazing. I don't know why people say they need 200, 300, or 350 watts. They obviously have not tried it with the 8200.
I have just gotten the Paradigm Reference Studio 100's up and running and now want to expand to HT. Plan on using Paradigm equipment for center and surrounds but wondering about subs. Paradigm has PW-2200 and the Servo-15 but have also read good things about SVS and HSU.. For you who have Studio...
