Let's see, in the past few weeks I've snagged:
The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
Doctor Who - The Complete First Season
Supernatural S1
McLeod's Daughters S1 (blind buy)
Within the last week, I've picked up:
Stargate Atlantis: S1
Arrested Development Seasons 1 & 2
Wonderfalls
All except Stargate Atlantis are blind buys. I've also got Roswell Season 3 on order. Now I just need time to watch them all.
Love the movie and definitely will purchase it but wow, that is some awful cover art. Adam, I'm thinking they mean those people on the bottom to be reavers
but who knows. Yikes.
Jason, thanks for the great review! I saw this twice at the theater and loved it -- it's easily one of the best movies of the year. To Ron and all who are doing a blind buy, you won't be disappointed. Now only if Spaced was released in R1... :)
That's a good point... I think it really depends on the person. I usually give TV-on-DVD to those who have the collector mentality. :) I'm getting my sister Simpsons: Season 5 and Smallville: Season 3 for Christmas. I bought her Season 1 of the Simpsons last Christmas and within a month, she...
I'm with you guys -- it's easily the best movie I've seen in a long time. I'm wondering if the Region 1 of Shaun will be the same as the Region 2. I haven't bought the Region 2 yet but it looks like it's absolutely packed with extras. It even has four commentary tracks... wow!
Well, I have Dark Angel season 1 and up to Season 6 of Buffy on DVD... But I'd go with Buffy for sure, rather than Dark Angel. While Buffy is going to be a bigger investment if you like it, it has a much higher quality of writing. Also, the cast is fantastic and the show just continues to pick...
Let's see, I just bought:
Angel Season 4
Coupling - Seasons 1 & 2 (bought it blind and I absolutely love it!)
And I've got Coupling Season 3 and Due South Season 3 on order as well.
Agreed. I think "Ed" was at its best when the storylines weren't focused entirely on the Ed/Carol relationship. So what are the odds that we'll see this show on DVD in the near future? There's a thread on the message boards at Stuckeyville.com that states that "Ed" is not on Paramount's...
Dane - the last season was the fourth and final season. It was abbreviated though, just 17 eps. And I'm with you on Sports Night -- probably the best blind buy I've ever done. Ed is one of my all-time favorite shows. It was a wonderfully quirky dramedy -- and those $10 bets! I still get the...
I think I'm in agreement with Amy -- in some ways, I'm a completist and must have every season of my favorite shows (Buffy, Angel, Due South). If my budget was bigger, I'd definitely love to add to that... But the main reason I buy TV on DVD is so I can rewatch the episodes I love and I just...
Off the top of my head, I'd go with: Garrison's Gorillas The Strip Voyagers! 12 O'Clock High The Adventures of Brisco County Jr. GvsE I would have said Tour of Duty a couple months ago but now it is coming out in June. :)
The last one I got was Angel Season 3.
I've got Buffy season 6, Due South season 3, West Wing season 2, and Smallville season 2 pre-ordered though. (And if I had the money, I'd go pick up Starsky and Hutch season 1.) :)
Isn't it great that we have all these TV DVDs we can buy? :)
Ugh, you guys are right -- they did cut that scene out! :frowning: What a mistake.
No, you aren't the only one. How would we go about seeing that happen?
The first DVD I ever had was given to me for my birthday -- it was The Monkees: Our Favorite Episodes. But the first ones I ever bought were Frequency and Shanghai Noon in November 2000. Had to watch them with the DVD-ROM on my computer with the tiny monitor (there's nothing quite like seeing...
I'm 22 and was started on the show by a friend of mine who is my age. She also got me to watch Sports Night... there's another show I adore. Season 2 of TWW is fantastic -- the two part season premiere still gives me chills. And there's a ton of great eps this season: "Galileo", "Noel", and...
Ugh, I saw that on Amazon.ca too. They haven't canceled my order yet... do you think they'll honor our original orders or make us reorder the set at the new price?
IIRC, the release dates both of the first and second season were pushed back as well. :rolleyes:Add that to the "wonderful"...
Brisco County Jr. Voyagers! Peacemakers Legacy (UPN drama about a Kentucky family in the 1880's) G vs E (or Good vs Evil, depending on what network you were watching) Garrison's Gorillas
Wow David - I am in awe of your collection. My list is pretty small in comparison to everyone here: Angel (S1-2) Buffy (S1-4) Dark Angel (S1) Due South (S1-2) Smallville (S1) Sports Night On order: The West Wing (S1) Firefly :) Buffy (S5-6) Angel (S3)
Oh, I'd love to get Ed on DVD -- it's one of my favorite shows! I'd probably pick up The Pretender, Will and Grace, and Saved By the Bell too. Wow, I guess better start saving money now... :)
Even though I wasn't too impressed with the season 1 release, I'll be picking up this set. "North" is my all-time favorite episode and I can't wait to have it on DVD. Also, William and Elyse's Due South News is reporting that Alliance may release a DVD collectors set that is like the VHS set...
Dave, thanks for all your hard work this year. The Weekly Roundup is one of my favorite things about HTF. :) I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!
