The reason why I said that they probably haven't seen the original is because if they haven't seen it, they are "watching it in a vacuum".
If I had never seen the original and had nothing to compare it to and it was a "new" show, I probably would have a different opinion of it.
But up against...
I watched the original way back and it was one of my favourites.
Like all remakes I was dreading it and it turns out I was right to do so.
The remake is AWFUL. There are few laughs and when there are, they seem "forced".
There is only one "funny person" in this and it is John Larroquette, unlike...
I am experiencing an anomaly in the sound processing of my new TV and I will post this here - please move this new issue as necessary...
When I was using my old Samsung HD TV I would sometimes turn on the sound of the TV at the same time as the sound from my Denon Receiver to make the voices...
I hooked up my new Samsung QN43Q60B 4K TV yesterday and put it through its paces with The Martian 4K and LOTR 4K.
WOW!
The picture is amazing.
The splitter is working perfectly.
I never knew true HD had such depth.
The best I could do with my old TV was 1080i and 720p.
The TV upscales regular...
Unfortunately the UBK80 I have only has one HDMI output and one optical digital audio output. The optical is useless for DTS HD-MA.
The splitter works great, although the blue LEDs are a little bright.
You are right of course.
As soon as I posted my last entry I ordered the 2-port one.
I only mentioned the 4-port one for its capabilities (my mistake).
Understood about the HDR10+.
I don't need the matrixed splitter since I only have one source (the 4K player).
Once I actually get the TV...
I understand what you are saying.
Manufacturers can promise the moon but whether or not it works in practice is another thing.
I don't think I need HDR10+ at this point, although it would be nice, but getting it at the 43" size is probably not happening at the price point I can afford. I would...
Thanks for all that.
That TV is all I can afford.
Upgrading the AVR is not in the cards.
The 4K player is only 6 months old so I won't be replacing that.
So if I read you right, I should go straight from the player to the TV with my 8K certified cable, bypassing the switch?
By the way, I...
You misunderstood me.
I am not daisy chaining inputs to my receiver.
Currently the signal goes from my 4K player into my receiver and then out to the HDMI switch and then to the TV. The switch is there because 2 of the 3 HDMI inputs on the 10 year old Samsung HDTV aren't working and I have a...
I'm not sure where to post this thread.
I am about to take delivery of a new Samsung 4K TV (QN43Q60BA). I already have an LG UBK80 4K disc player and my HT receiver is a Denon AVR-590.
I also bought an 8K Certified HDMI cable ().
To get the best picture, what is the best path for the...
My top 10 (12 actually)

Jurassic Park (original)
The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance
Maybe a little off topic but why don't they say "And the Winner Is" when awarding Oscars like they used to?
You hear media constantly referring to "the Academy award winning film" or" "the Ocsar winning film", not "the film the Oscar went to".
Is there a taboo against winners?
It makes me sad.
I've bought or received several SONY products over the years, mostly small items. Invariably they all failed in less time than I would have thought would be normal for a brand with the "supposed" reputation of SONY. This includes everything from a small black cube clock radio to a mini shelf...
It's the Harry Potter:Return to Hogwarts special on HBO Max and here in Canada on Crave.
I was not aware of the Zoom panels on the Middle Earth set. Thanks.
Just slightly off-topic but I was wondering why, in the light of the Harry Potter 20th anniversary look-back (Return to Hogwarts), Peter Jackson et al have decided not to do something similar for LOTR. Most of the main actors are still with us and if they are possibly waiting to do a 25th...
The HDMI spec doesn't allow for Audio Only HDMI. The HDMI signal contains both audio and video packets. There is no way to separate them inside the Receiver/Amp. That label on the back of the UB420 is misleading.
Just go HDMI out-on the BD player and HDMI-in on the Receiver.
You missed Windows for Workgroups 3.1 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11. Both were extensions of 3.1 and 3.11 that allowed users to share data and resources.
With the death of Frank Bonner I am searching for the best source for the series DVDs. I know that Shout! Factory bought the rights and managed to get the rights for most of the original music and dialog.
Is this the best version available?
Was the colour corrected in the BD version or the latest version? This is the first I've heard mention of the topic.
I never really noticed anything. Could you give me a good sample scene?
Thanks.
