Robert, I don't think you'll be missing out on much by seeing the movie in 2D. I'm sure there are a few scenes that would feel more impressive / immersive with it (the starmap scenes comes to mind), but I don't think its worth the trade-off of making the film any darker visually.
I enjoyed the...
On the topic of "gotchas", you bring up a good point Kevin. While I was watching the film for my review I couldn't help but notice that I zeroed in immediately on what I thought was going to eventually be the big reveal in Act 3. I actually wrote "too predictable" on my notepad.
I debated for...

I think I agree with you in some ways about the focus on his alcoholism in the last third of the season, but I also think it was critical to the overall story arc of the first season, particularly in the season finale.
I have to remind myself that, as was mentioned many times in the...
I have to agree with you there Dave. After 8 seasons (with a 9th on the way), how much more story can there possibly be? I personally believe that Reaper had quite a bit of unplumbed depth, too bad we most likely will never see it.

Just a quick heads up that I'm working on the review for Reaper S2 now. What a great show, I'll be bummed if it doesn't get picked up for syndication. Tapehand!!
Nice review Kevin! I've long been considering picking up some of the previous seasons of Weeds since I don't get Showtime. I'll have to put this season on the list as well.

I remember renting this on DVD shortly after it was released. Nice review Pat, I think you got it perfectly. It's useful for some easy scares on friends who come over, but seems more concerned with giving the viewer the creeps than it is with keeping the story on track.

Peter, That's not a dumb question at all. 1. The Focus Features' logo is not on the back cover of my DVD, but is on the front as you can see from the image posted above my review. 2. The logo also does not appear during playback, only Universal's, Metropolitan's, and Studiocanal's. -S-
That's a pretty solid idea Ray. I had been debating whether I wanted to grab the 3 disc version from Amazon shortly before I was given this version to review. I admit I'm a sucker for commentaries, but I think I'll hold off for a Blu-Ray release and hope the commentaries are in there. Thanks...

Fantastic, thanks for the info John. By the way, I don't have enough speakers to run a 7.1 configuration right now, so I have my fronts bi-amped using Pioneer's instructions.
I just recently (Saturday) purchased a new Pioneer Elite receiver to replace my aging Sony 555-ES. I get all my connections hooked up (HDMI, component, FiberOp, etc..), fire it up, run the MCACC, set the volume to -40db and put in the Blu-ray of Batman Begins. And hear nothing. As it...
