That's a very good question. I would call Denon and ask them. I agree that The AVP (and POA) should have been available in both silver and black in both Europe and North America. At least we could them buy what would match our other gear better.
Thank you for the nice compliment.:) Yes Martin Logans are amazing speakers. For me the only thing better than a Martin Logan is a bigger Martin Logan. :) Though I plan on keeping my reQuests for a very long time, if the opportunity presented itself, I would LOVE to own the Martin Logan...
Yes a dedicated theater room with a front projector is without a doubt the ultimate way to go. But since I don't yet have a dedicated room, this current setup with the 70 inch Sony SXRD TV works really well. But someday when I do have a room built I will have at least a 120 inch screen. :)
It's all a matter of preference I guess. Some people really like 7.1 sound (myself included), while others feel otherwise. For me I would welcome a discrete 9.1 system. I have been amazed with what can be done with 7.1 DD-EX sound (all the new Star Wars films). Sound to the front, the sides, and...
Well it looks like even though Denon's Blu-ray player is going to be delayed until Spring '08, their advanced AV controller will be available by years end. And pricing has officially been announced at $7,000. Here's the whole scoop on this AV controller from CEDIA in Denver: Denon...
I'm about as curious on that as you are. Original rumors were saying that they were due out this November, but now I'm hearing December sometime. Either Nov. or Dec. at least we know it's scheduled for this year.:) I know that I want the AVP-A1HD bad.
At the show Denon had in New Jersey they were pretty tight lipped an any specifics (official pricing, availability, etc.). They did have the AV processor and matching amp on display though, and from what I've read from ones who attended the event, the pair are really built well (and HEAVY!). So...
Yeah I'd like to give those amps a listen ;) I guess the reason I'm not really in a hurry to change out my Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature II is because it sounds so good! It has a LOT of power (850 watts x 5), and like the ICE amps, it also runs very cool. Seth
Thank you for the compliments on my setup :) Yes a dedicated theater room is the the best way to go. At some point in the not too distant future a dedicated room is going to be constructed. But for the present, my living room/home theater sounds pretty amazing! Re why I have both Dish and...
First off, thanks for the compliment ;) And I have to agree with you, a dedicated room for this gear is definitely the ultimate way to go. But as I don't yet have that "dedicated room", this is the best that I can do. But for as open of an area as it is, it sounds surprisingly good :) Both music...
Checked out those amps, very nice! And I would probably get their 7 channel amp, but right now I don't need amps as I already have two 5 channel amps (Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature and Sonance Sonamp 5150). So as far as amplification goes, I've got my bases covered pretty well ;) But for...
Sign me up as well! :) I was really considering the Anthem D2, but for its $6,700 retail price it still doesn't do everything that this bad boy will do. I've used Denon in the past and was very pleased with the build quality and sound quality. Being that this is a dedicated A/V processor with...
I agree! These new separates are amazing! If the Pre/Pro sells for $7,500 or less, and it sounds as good as I think it will, I'm getting one. I'm currently using a Sunfire TGIII pre/pro and I really like how it sounds with my Martin Logans. The only thing is that the Sunfire is quickly...
My slice of audio/video heaven :) Speakers: Martin Logan Models: reQuest, Aerius i, Theater i, Descent Associated electronics: Pre-Pro/Amplifiers Pre-Pro: Sunfire Theater Grand III 5 Channel Amp: Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature Series II 5 Channel Amp: Sonance Sonamp 5150...
Just figured it was time to put this thread back on the map again:) This looks like it's going to be one amazing pre/pro! Theta, Meridian, Classe', Lexicon, and Krell, better watch out because the Denon AVP-A1HD is coming! Here's some updated features that this bad boy will have: THX Ultra...
Thanks for your input guys :) I think I have made my choice, an APC Smart UPS 750VA. It has everything that I need and it's a sine wave type. Thanks again! Seth
While I am enjoying my Sony 70XBR2 very much, I often fear that some power outage is going to wreck havoc on the TV's lamp . When the TV is turned off normally the fan stays on for a good 3 minutes to give sufficient time for the lamp to cool off. But in the event of a power outage the TV will...
Thanks guys for the info. I decided that since I would rather have different video settings for standard def and HD, I connected an S Video cable for 480i satellite sources. And now after calibrating and tweaking a bit, 480i looks pretty darn good :) HD of course looks phenomenal! This TV is...
ChrisClearman, Thanks for the most helpful info :) Actually I don't have a 1080p source (yet), but I ordered a Toshiba HD-XA2 HD DVD player and am expecting delivery Monday. Once the XA2 is in place then It'll be 1080p out to 1080p in. I can't wait!! BTW I LOVE this TV!!! HD images from...
Hello, I just purchased a Sony 70 inch XBR2 SXRD and I was wondering if I should use an S Video connection for seeing standard non HD material from DirecTV. I currently have everything (HD and non HD channels) going through the HDMI connection. And while 1080i HD looks awesome, standard 480i...
