I have a Sony 655 DVD 5 disc carousel. I took it apart.. it wasn't a big deal. Just lay it down, the way it supposed to be.. and unscrew certain screws (on the sony anyways) The screws were on the back, and the top cover slid off. took out the CD/DVD, and pop the case back on.. it's happen 1...
Yes, I have this exact combo and love it. From other rotel members though, you might want to take a look at the RSX-1055 w/ RMB-1075 combo. Supposedly it sounds the same and you get an extra 5 channels of 75W. My previous equipment was Onkyo 898.
Depends, I have a 36" XBR and with the Sony 900V (slight case of chroma bug) i see nothing. I will have a new Pioneer 45A within the next week (this player is known have a major case of it) and let you know if it does or not.
The player should handle DTS so you would have to use the player's 5.1 analog outputs. Does your Onkyo 6 channel analog in's? If it does, then you plug it in directly there, and when you use the onkyo set it to multichannel analog to hear the DTS.
Joe: I have the RSP-1066 with a RB-1080 and RMB-1075. I enjoy my setup and would recommend it to all. I don't have any issues with my unit. Even though I do get a LFE channel when playing music (I have full towers on all channels) I don't mind it.
Joe: That Bass management issue is being addressed, The Popping sound I've never heard, and no hiss from my unit. Plus the new 1066 and 1055's both have 200mhz video switching. Anyhow, I love my Rotel setup... and would recommend it to everyone.
Depends.. if the unit is factory reburished (b-stock) then it's okay.. cause usually they carry the full manufacturer's warranty. Like www.ac4l.com carries alot of b-stock marantz items. So it depends... grey market stuff.. well forget about the warranty all together.
I own the 36XBR450. When I watch DVD's (anamorphic) when fed a progressive signal to the TV, you have to go into the TV's menu to turn on the 16X9 enhanced mode. It's not a problem.. it's just how the Sony's were made. I believe the new units.. the XBR800 do not have that problem anymore. I know...
That ticking you hear is just going to get worse. It's going to start from that centre and move all around all your speakers. Mine started on my left Front, and it affected all 7 speakers. Take the unit back to Onkyo, they have a fix for it. While your at it fix the Dolby Digital EX drop out...
This player will not be out till sometime next year. Some legal issues have to be ironed out between the both companies. Currently the only player that has this chip is Faroudja own player. Which retails for about $8000, i think.
Actually alot of people prefer Coaxial more then toslink. The reason is. There's a extra 2 steps in converting electrical data to light. Where in the case with Coaxial everthing stays electrical... from dvd player ->down coaxial cable -> receiver -> receiver decodes electrical information...
okay question guys. Maybe you can clear something up for me. Since I'm not a pro when it comes to this D/A stuff. If he ran his Proceed to his Mark Levinson No. 40 preamp and let the No.40 do the D/A conversion of cd's, wouldn't the sony almost sound exactly the same??? since the Levinson is...
I use to own a Onkyo, very good receivers. I also enjoy HK's alot too. Don't worry about the HK's output in terms of power. They are usually very conservative, where onkyo's newer line (the TXSR's) don't seem to be able to put out the specified watts. HK usually have a quality issues, so to tell...
