as i see it... traditional animation will be back, shortly after the influx of crappy 3D animation that is sure to flood the market in the next few years.
Mulan II is being done at DTV, so you're pretty much assured the level of quality you've come to expect from the likes of Cinderella II and Atlantis II. {You should be very frightened.)
You needn't subject your children to second rate story and animation. There is PLENTY of top notch animation on DVD that your kids should love. TOY STORY, TOY STORY 2, A BUG'S LIFE, MONSTERS INC, SPIRITED AWAY, PRIINCES MONONOKE, POCAHONTAS, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN...
Warning: RANT forthcoming... With the exception of that one Halloween episode PDI did for the Simpsons where Homer gets trapped in the "3rd Dimension", the Simpsons is not "DIGITAL ANIMATION"! recently yes, they've begun doing ink and paint digitally, but this show has always been, and...
[SIZE=2]Thanks Rain, Steven. I think I'll go check out Videomatica first. But even Roger's sounds better than Blockbuster. But off the subject a bit... hey Rain,
Every time I walk into my Blockbuster it gets worse. It is now to the point where I can't rent there anymore. Any Vancouverites know of a good rental place I can rely on to find Widescreen DVDs? Is there a place that caters to the cinephile?
I couldn't find another thread similar to this, so I'm wondering if I'm the only one... but is anyone having a problem with the 'subtitles' that identify those speaking that play with the audio commentaries? for example, when I listen to the art/design commentary, I'll get subtitles popping...
best price in Canada? anybody know? I've been to TrU, hoping to find it for the exchange rate equivalent of 9.99. nope. it rang up at 28.59 with tax. where should i go?
just listened to the Clancy commentary track. it's worth the rental price in and of itself. this guy knows his stuff, and it's refreshing to hear him discuss in no uncertain terms what he really thought of the film. apparently alot of inaccuracies throughout, which makes me wonder why they...
Jeffrey,
oh okay. that makes sense. i may have to pick up spy kids then, & round out my robert rodriguez collection.
...i wonder how the AOTC DVD will compare. (10+ i imagine) although you could argue that Clones belongs in the animation category too...
DVDHype.com? hehe, i just noticed another thread that brought this up. can anyone comment on the service? or anyone who's found a similar company in canada?
I'm surprised to hear you guys raving about the picture quality on the Spy Kids DVD, not that I'm doubting it. I've yet to see it for myself.
How does it compare with the Pixar DVD's? These have always been my reference discs. ...just wondering.
Thanks for the comments guys. I checked out a little bit about the Teranex processor, which I had never heard of before, and it does sound really cool. I think I will be starting my DVD collection in earnest now. Really, I don't think I could have stopped myself even if I wanted to...
I'm contemplating whether or not to begin building a "collection" of DVD's now. I have a few DVDs now (14) and like the idea of building a library of my favorite films. But when I think about the long term though, I know in 5 years or so I'll end up having to replace my entire collection with...
FIRST POST EVER! Hey folks. I've been watching this thread awhile. Does anyone know if the bitrate is higher on the Canadian version of Monsters Inc? It should, shouldn't it since the disc only has the widescreen version? as a follow up question, what players are you guys using that can display...
