How do I get my DVD's to play in a 16:9 format?

I think Doug saids he has a Ultravision 65" screen because there is no 61". They come in 57" or 65" and I happen to own the 57" of the TWX series. Oh! don't forget to lower down the contrast on the TV because it's at 100% default and that will cause burn in quickly if you're not careful and even...

    Will 100% contrast damage TV?

Hi Bill, Nope, I didn't have still stuff running the entire time. I guess it would add up to a couple of minutes of still stuff ever since I gotten the TV. -- Hi Eric, I tried 20% but it just seemed way too low. 50% seemed to make out very well and the brightness is also 50% default...

Hi, On the RPTV, would running 100% damage a TV (burn in)? If so.. how long? I gotten my new Hitachi TWX set recently and have been running for a couple of hours total(over a peroid of a few days). I noticed that my TV was set to 100% contrast but just yesturday changed it to 50%. I want to...

    Another 16:9 Question

Set your contrast at about 50% and you will be fine. Some TVs by default put contrast at 100%.

Check Future Shop. I think I saw one there in the store. I have the TWX series of Hitachi.

Please help me pick a TV

I would say you should go with the Hitachi TWX series. It's top of the line since it's better than the SWX series. Better video processor, focus and sheild. It's like the XWX which is the flagship model but without the HDTV decoder built in.

Preventing burn in during game sessions

Lowering down is a mehtod but it doesn't stop it from occurring since it's just basically slowing down the burn-in process.

    Hitachi 43 or Sony 46

What are the dimentions of this room? I thought the 65" inch would be too big but my friend and Video Only said. When he and his co-workers had to move a 65" TWX TV in the store and this was at night. What they did? They moved the TV very close to a table where they were eating and watched a...

Preventing burn in during game sessions

Well actaully you shouldn't be playing any games on RPTV. I would put it this way.. Anything that does not raster will burn in no matter what, since you will build it up. Inside the tube from what I've been told from a high-end TV store, there are like gasses in there and since the game will...

    Hitachi 43 or Sony 46

Wayneg, Actaully that's salesmen is no good if he saids RPTV sucks. This is because RPTV is actaully better than a Direct view. The brightness, contrast and colors are much better than that of a CRT. If you compare the two sets watchign a dvd for example, you will notice the RPTV is way...

    Hitachi 43 or Sony 46

WayneG, Yes the dot-pitch is very useful. Just means the pixels are smaller therefore you get a clearer and sharper with the additional pixels to create the picture. The term dot-pitch is also used in computer monitors as well, like .25mm. In a case of a TV, the sales men ment to say .52mm...

Best Widescreen TV for Digital Sattelite

Hi Chris, Since you said UWX, it's not the top of the line model since it's their low-end line. Only the XWX/TWX are the two top of the line models and are part of Hitachi's Specialty line, which also includes the GWX but XWX/TWX being the top. They differ than the UWX because it has a better...

    Widescreen TV help needed

Hi Jarrett, The TVs for the TWX and XWX series are exactly the same. The difference is that the XWX is the flagship series and it has a built-in HDTV decoder and has a black high-gloss finish. The TWX doesn't have a HDTV decoder and has a grey finish and marble decorated like panels...

Question about the screen on the new Hitachi 57SWX20B's

My friend and Video Only told me about the information. Also I looked at the TWX and the lower series - I think that was the SWX and the TWX actaully stood out. They were both getting the same video feed and the difference is noticable. I'm currently in my university at the time of this...

hitachi 51uwx20b vs mitsubishi ws48311 vs toshiba 50h82

Nope, but tell your co-worker about the Hitachi TWX/XWX series. They are top of the line. Better focus, video decoder and other things compared to UWX. TWX differs from XWX because XWX has a HDTV decoder and a black high-gloss finish. Bascially these two sets are exactly the same in terms of...
