My friend and I both bought this today. Upon unwrapping and opening the case, we were surprised to find finger prints on the first dvd. Is this a common occurence? I guess the person putting the discs inside the cases was not wearing gloves or something.
I'm surprised no one mentioned the scene where the gigantic monster is standing next to Sulley and Mike at the crosswalk. The first step that giant takes off the curb pounds nicely. I believe it's Chapter 5, at the 9 minute mark.
I too bought mine at Kmart. Went thru about ten before I found an acceptable one. Another thing I always do is make sure the cover art is not sticking out above the clear plastic. I learned the hard way that when removing the security sticker, it can tear away some of the cover art surface if...
Let me know if you actually go to Kmart and get this deal. I'll probably be going there in the morning. The next best price out there is Circuit City for $15.99.
Doesn't the RP-91 use the "Genesis" Mpeg decoder? I initially thought the RP91 and RP82 both used the Sage/Faroujda chip, but then I read somewhere that this was not the fact. Now, I did also read that the RP62 also uses the Faroujda.
I bought my RP-82 for $191 at Brandsmart, a local warehouse style electronics & appliance store. It's an excellent DVD player, as long as you can tolerate the chrome/silver exterior, which is the only color it's available in. If you don't care about MP3 playback, you can go with the less...
I have an RXV-850 sitting in the garage. It's many years old. More than 7 years old. It's only a Dolby Pro-Logic receiver. Last month I finally replaced it with a Denon 3802. He's in need of a similar upgrade. Get him the Panasonic RP-62 or RP-82. In his birthday card write, "Buddy, I hope you...
Large RPTV's haven't really impressed me. Unless you're sitting pretty far back. The few I've seen, people have their primary seating location about 10ft back. My center viewing spot will only be 9ft back, so I'm going with a direct view 16:9 like the Sony 34XBR800. I want razor sharp resolution...
Ben, maybe you should ask your neighbor upstairs to listen while you play something like Jurassic Park III at reference levels. It would be interesting to know how much they can actually hear and/or feel.
I agree with you about the center channel. If I push it any further forward, it'll fall off. On my wall unit, I like to open the right door mainly to give the Denon plenty of ventilation. As you can see in the picture, the Denon sits on the bottom and the first shelf is 4 inches above...
Deep Discount DVD. As long as you don't mind the wait for their free first class mail to get the dvd to your house, they're usually the cheapest. They also offer faster shipping, but that'll increase the cost. Check DVD Priceseach and you'll see they're usually at the top of the list.
I had a similar situation as Joe_B_M. My wife bought a used copy of "The Family Man" with some obvious scratches. My PS2 sputtered badly towards the middle of the movie. I kept advancing it and the sputtering would not stop. Finally gave up. The next day I went out and bought the RP82. That...
Thanks Bill. I have to give the wife credit for researching the wallunits and choosing this one. She's got her little collectibles in the left audio cabinet and I've got my HT stuff in the right audio cabinet. My speakers fit perfectly laying on their sides behind the black mesh you see on the...
Paul, I bought a wallunit made by Link Removed. It's beautifully made. Mine has the adjustable bridge Bill mentioned, so you can make it fit snug around most RPTV. I went ahead and bought the center section also because I plan on upgrading to a larger direct view tv. Here's what mine looks like.
My first experience with this sound we're hearing was while watching JPIII's airplane crash scene followed by the dino fight. I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Jon_Liu, I'm pretty sure you're hearing the same thing I heard when I first started playing my 25-31PCi at reference levels. I think what you and I are hearing is the air actually being compressed rapidly between the woofer cone and the bottom floor plate and being push out horizontally. I only...
Dirk, the picture of the RP82S on Panasonic's website is incorrect. That's a photo of the prototype. Crutchfield, the link I provided on the first post, has the correct photos of the unit. The RP82 is not available in black, unfortunately. If you can get used to the Chrome/Silver color, then I'd...
I have my SVS 25-31PCi calibrated to 80dB(lowest swing 79 dB / highest swing 81 dB) using Video Essentials,RS SPL meter, my Denons's master volume at the "00" and Denon's SW level at -6. When watching movies at reference level, I may turn up the SW level just a little depending on the movie. If...
