bought the scd-c555es from j&r audio through recomendations on this site.......i like the player....good value....but its not working correctly now....wont play most discs...even some brand new ones....all sacd work correctly though...cant seem to find any warranty info in the manual....just...

When I sold HT stuff, most Sony's had this dopey feature, i.e. a mechanical on/off button. Extremely irritating! And doesn't that 555ES cost around $800? paid $600 ...best sounding cd player i ever had........i didnt realize it was a noise issue......not a big deal...anything for cleaner sound :)

why is there no way of shutting off the 555es with the remote?...i use the mx500....is there a way to find discrete on/off comands?....thank you for your time

dvd is connected with digital coax....surround mode options?......should auto detect......... i change modes manually to dts..(is this the mode i should be using for 5.1 playback of 5.1 source?)..in the manual it says dd EX can be manually set by pressing plII then it is memorized for future dd...

i believe the bass management issue in the outlaw & the 1066 is caused by the same chipset. forget who makes them....(used by both companies)...correct me if im wrong...
