    Toshiba 3800 - Initial Impressions

Yep. Panel clicks down time remaining in hours/minutes/seconds while the OSD NAVI/DISPLAY display clicks off time elapsed. Very nice. Regards, Hank

    Toshiba 3800 - Initial Impressions

I'm surprised Zoran would admit to such a thing. There is a "consensus" of folks here - some say they see 'it', some say they don't. I don't. Those that do, say the Tosh is the least affected. But then again, I don't tend to watch my movies in the pause mode :D Good luck, Hank

    Goodbye RP-82, Hello Toshiba 3800/4800!

Albert, small jpegs should output as thumbnails. I use exif encoded files down sized to around 350KB to do a slideshow. These files were first downloaded from my digicam into Irfan Viewer, reduced in size, and sharpened. From there, I burned them to disc - it works fine.... I have yet to play...

    Dish Network Noise?

K, you best preview the output first if you can. I have the Dish 500 and PVR501 and never been happier. Just wish the 501 had a bigger hard drive. Hank

    Goodbye RP-82, Hello Toshiba 3800/4800!

Jim_B, check out ABT Electronics, bargain with them. I got the 3800 for $160 shipped even though it lists for $229 on their site. Albert, have you tried the Photo viewer? The Tosh's jpg reader is about 3 to 4 times faster when it comes to loading jpg files of similiar size than the new JVC...

    Goodbye RP-82, Hello Toshiba 3800/4800!

The Toshibas have always been the least affected by the chroma bug. I do not see it on my SD-3800. The picture quality is outstanding. Layer change is less than a second. David, the Digital Photo Viewer plays jpegs burned to disc, however, it has a problem with exif encoded files (or it's the...

    Goodbye RP-82, Hello Toshiba 3800/4800!

Try ABT, that's where I got the SD-3800. BTW, my wife and I just got through watching A Beautiful Mind, and I am blown away regarding the quality of output, audio, quick layer change, etc. Chroma smoma, there aint no bug here. Just in the minds of the Panny co-dependents. Hank :b

    Goodbye RP-82, Hello Toshiba 3800/4800!

Peter, I know what you mean about the quality and features of the Tosh, I just set up my SD-3800 and am beginning to get acquainted with it. Seems we have a Panny co-dependency working in some of the forums, if I may be candid. Side by side comparisons of the RP56 and SD-4700 reflects that the...

    Scaling on Toshiba SD3800?

The Panasonic RP82 does not scale, that's what all the moans have been about from folks who now have it in their hands. You can't trust Panny player descriptions or reps for correct info. I just got the Tosh SD3800, and it does scale, very nicely although in limited increments. The scaling...
