I have to disagree here. I purchased my first HDTV in 2002 from CC and paid $400 for a 4 year plan to cover the $2500 TV. It was a CRT based RP set. I had issues with the TV and they replaced it and offered me a LCD RP set. This was in late 2005. I took the value of the set they offered and...
Short answer: No. You need a system. Of course this is an opinion. You may love the sound. I hate it. More impressions: The TV is just spectacular. I have it calibrated fairly well. I use the Just Scan picture setting so it's 1:1 pixel ratio. Bluray are stunning, as are games from my 360 and...

I'll post more as I find them in my research.
I just got a Samsung LN52A650 and I can't decide if I like the 120Hz thing or not.
I run a PS3 for Blu-ray and was watching WALL-E @ 24Hz and noticed jutter in slow pans, so I turned on the 120Hz to medium and it turned it smooth as silk. I am assuming it interpolates and adds extra frames to...
Wow. Surprising about the 3808. I wonder if those are things that can be fixed in firmware. I am assuming they are since the chip they use is capable. I am glad all I use is HDMI 1080p passthrough. ;) Look at all those F's: http://www.hometheatermag.com/images...testden38b.jpg
New LN52A650 owner here! I had a HL-S5687W that was repaired a few times until CC replaced it under their extended warranty. Anyway, I did a bit of calibration and the picture is INCREDIBLE. My method is basically using "Just Scan" to get 1:1 pixel ratio and turning off all the extra...
Thanks guys. The dynamic volume doesn't interest me since I don't use my HT for regular TV viewing often. Robert - How much do you charge for the Pro upgrade? It's a different mic right? What else comes with the pro upgrade other than what's in the feature pack and a more precise set of room...
You NEVER KNOW with Rush. For a band that was (is) so into technology, it seems like they often don't quite get it. The Rush in Rio non anamorphic widescreen was a prime example. Either way, I AM DAMN PSYCHED for HD Rush. I was FRONT ROW center at Virigina Beach last year and would like to...

I have listed it here before and now just put it on ebay. It's $199 + $40 shipped (more than $10 less than estimated UPS shipping cost) anywhere in the 48 states. Link removed by moderator, do not repost - CA
It's worth contacting Philips to see what they charge to fix it. Sometimes companies are REALLY cool and will fix stuff for free out of warranty. It's happened to me more than once. Call them.
I let the Audyssey do it's thing and it set my fronts X-over to 40Hz as well. They are fairly small speakers so I did this: I manually set the speaker size to small and then set my sub settings to LFE + Main. According to Audyssey, none of this effects the setup.
I agree, and thanks for the bump! This is really a very nice and capable receiver. I think some guys use these for pre-pro as well if you are looking to go that route.
That's the first I have heard of that rumor. Are you sure you aren't mixing that up with the fact that the hardware is limited and will never be able to use BITSTREAM with either new format? It was officially announced by Sony that DTS-MA would be supported in a future update.
