Hi, I hope this thread is in the right place :) I've been considering upgrading to a set of premium in ear canal earphones (maybe something in the Shure line), and having a frustrating, if fairly understandable, time in not being able to sample anything of them. So, while flying blind I'm...
Hi, I'm in the market for a (hopefully) nice stereo system of two speakers and a receiver, and a sub if necessary. I would also like to be able to add a record player one day. The thing is I live in a condo, so I'm looking for components that will sound good at a fairly low volume, and will...
Thanks so much for the responses! To give a little more information: Budget: I assumed my budget would be limited by the source material itself. I assumed that spending more than a certain amount would cease to improve my sound any further, and would even reveal the limitations of the mp3...
Hi, I have a fairly large mp3 collection (192 bit rate), and wanted to upgrade from pc speakers and listen to my collection on a real stereo setup. I'd like the best sound possible, but I don't want to do too much and reveal the limitations in the recordings. Can anyone recommend a good receiver...
Hi, I have gone through a number of receivers over the past few years, and was hoping you might be able to give me some advice. No receiver cost more than $500. I had an HK not reproduce bass and also emit a loud buzzing, even when turned off, a Pioneer have a channel go out, and a Yamaha stop...
Hi, I'm looking to purchase a pair of bookshelves or satellites for around $400-$600. I need to get either front ported or enclosed speakers, which will be used mainly for music but also for a bit of home theater. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Hi, I'm looking for an affordable pair of floorstanding speakers for a condo. I probably will not add a subwoofer later. I've narrowed my likely choices down to the PSB Image T45 and the Paradigm Esprit. The cost difference between the two isn't really that relevant; I just want to be happy down...
Hi. My audio has cut out on me three times while watching two different DVDs in the past two days. For two of those times, the audio didnt even come on at the menu screen. Turning the DVD player off and back on seems to rectify the situation. I assume, then, that something is wrong with my DVD...
Warner Home Video lists the special features of the Iron Giant DVD to include commentary from Brad Bird, deleted scenes, etc. that were supposed to be on the special edition. Anyone know if Warner is, by some gift from the celluloid gods, selling the new edition on their site?
In my humble opinion, you already have the best football game this year. I've played NCAA 2003, Madden, and NFL2K3, and, for me, NCAA is easily the most fun of the bunch this year.
Thank you, Doug. Always an experience debating with the fanboys, huh? Reviews noted that Tony Hawk 3 had more slowdown on the Cube than on the Xbox. SSX Tricky's control scheme had to be stripped down for the Cube. Madden 2002 had to remove some of its franchise mode on the Cube to accomodate...

Nintendo's newly appointed president Satoru Iwata announced at an analyst meeting today, that the company would make serious changes in direction, due to a fear of a decline in the game industry.
Note "serious changes in direction."...
Whoops, you are right :b. I didn't realize this computer had the cookie. Shall I post more of the review? I'd be happy to if you'd like. I though ign unlocked their reviews after so long, but I know you want the game the day it's released, as do I. They may have changed that policy, too.
Believe me, I don't want this to turn into a flame war. I really appreciate the high class of those who use these boards. I don't consider Nintendo moving away from hardware to be "doom and gloom." Iwata specifically said that Nintendo would focus on games rather than hardware, which points...
Here's a link to what new Nintendo President Satoru Iwata said in an analyst meeting in early June. It doesn't specifically say that the GameCube will be their last system (I think Gamespot inferred that, but I can't access their news anymore because I don't have GS Complete), but it does state...
I think the review is unlocked now. The bottom line, though: an 8.5, and "the best tennis videogame on the planet." I will be at Babbage's as soon as the game comes out.
I seem to recall reading something on videogames.com recently that said that the Cube would be Nintendo's last console. This makes a lot of sense because their games have always been much better than the hardware running them. Can't wait to play Zelda on the PS3.
I must say that Virtua Tennis and Tennis 2K2 are some of the most enjoyable and addictive games ever. Very easy to pick up and play and just fun party games.
