I noticed a new printing of the 1-disc version of David Fincher's "Se7en" at BB today. In addition to being a new printing of a version not seen for quite a while, this version was in a standard snap case, not in the old Warner/New Line keep case. That's not all, the back of the new printing...
Biggest Plot Hole Ever... Could someone please tell me why Gandalf couldn't have just called his eagle (that he used to save Frodo and Sam at the end of the third movie) at the very beginning of the first movie and just flown Frodo (w/ the ring) over the volcano and dropped it in from there...
Did anyone notice that the first chapter (from the beginning until the opening credits) of episode 13 "Take Out the Trash Day" is repeated from a previous episode in the S1 set? I'm not sure which episode it is, but I'm positive that it was repeated. I don't know if it's an error in the DVD...
Is there a consensus as to whether DAD is going to be in the next Bond box set and if it is, will it be the 2-disc, and if it is, when will the box be released? Davisdvd.com says this is the case, but there still is no street date for Bond box #2... -Jack
I was wondering if anyone knows if this series was shot on film and if it is possible that the video quality on the DVD is anywhere near Cheers-quality (i.e. very good)... Thanks, -Jack F
Is it possible that the Charlie's Angels Season 1 set that is coming out Tuesday will be as good as the Cheers Season 1 set in terms of video quality? Was Charlie's Angels shot on film? -Jack
According to this site: http://epguides.com/Cheers/ the third episode should be "The Tortelli Tort", but in your screenshot it is "Sam's Women", can anyone explain this discrepency? Is it not the "Complete" season?, Amazon says 22 episodes which matches the epguides.com guide, are they out of...
Amazon lists a new edition of American Psycho being released on May 20th. This is being released by Lions Gate rather than Universal. Does anyone know if it will be an unrated version or the R-rated version? - Jack
I saw a package shot on IGN a few months ago of a 2-disc SE version of Ballistic: Ecks vs. Sever. They also had specs listed, including an hour of extended scenes featuring more action shots. This 2-disc edition is not listed on Amazon or Best Buy's websites... Does anyone know if this DVD...
I realize that this is not at all currently relevant, and at this pace, it won't be relevant until about 2010, but I have a question regarding the Simpsons and censorship... At this thread over at DVD Talk... They are talking about the Family Guy set and the banned episode, and one...
Just wanted to put in a vote for the 1-disc version. Why in the world would I intentionally get the 1-disc instead of the 2-disc? Well, at my Best Buy, it's $14.99 for the CE and $27.99 for the DE. For a couple supplemental materials that I probably would never watch I didn't feel it was...
I did get to rent HH 2004, and I liked it, but not enough to buy. I think the graphics are pretty subpar for a game labeled "2004". Also, I agree with the above statements about the slow pitch speed and extreme exaggeration of pitches. I also did read the other threads about WSB and MVP, but...
Okay, it's been a few weeks and I can't decide on which baseball game for PS2. WSB2k3 or MVP2003? It seems to me that most people favor World Series Baseball, however, I am very drawn to the new batter/pitcher/fielder interface on MVP. Can anyone help me decide? I've tried to rent the...
Could you describe the batter/pitcher interface on High Heat. I thought that High Heat and WSB both used the cursor system and that MVP was the only one to employ a different system... Do you think that MVP or WSB would prove more accurate a baseball simulator? (meaning, not arcade-style...
When you say it supports 16x9, do you mean that you can play the game in a 1.78:1 aspect ratio? If so, is WSB2K3 the only baseball game with this feature? Also, what is the mechanism for pitching and hitting? Is it the traditional cursor model? I still can't decide between WSB and MVP...
It seemed to fade out at the end to me as well. A great beginning, good middle, and poor ending. That said, I enjoyed the first 2/3 enough to buy... -Jack
May 20, 2003: 25th Hour Adaptation. Cheers: The Complete First Season Dances With Wolves: Special Edition Dark Angel: The Complete First Season Frasier: The Complete First Season Sex & the City: The Complete Fourth Season Star Trek: Nemesis Windtalkers: Director's Edition Wow...
Well, I for one will be buying it. Rules was one of my favorites of 2002. Cheap shot at Final Cut Pro. The film looked pretty damn good to me, and it used a lot of innovative techniques as well. If you can't appreciate this film, well, it's your loss. -Jack
I noticed that the X-Men 1.5 at Best Buy and Wal-Mart have different bonus material listed on the back and some things are exclusive to Best Buy? Is there a different version of this DVD at different retailers? -Jack
So, is the concensus that The Shield was shot in 4:3 or 16:9? Also, the deleted scenes that are in widescreen seem higher quality in terms of the video itself. The episodes in full frame are very erratic in terms of video quality. I realize that some of this is artistic intention but it seems...
Check this page: http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/news.cfm (Click on the link for Cheers) There is a photo on the pop-up page that shows what is to be the details of the box set. Notice it says "widescreen" This must be a misprint... There is no way a show from 1982 was shot in...
The problem is not that the effects look bad, because frankly, in my opinion, the effects would look bad no matter what. I detest CGI and prefer model work. The problem is that every time there is a CGI shot, I think, "Well, here's a scene that's a cropped 1.33:1." The CGI scenes are...
With all these aspect ratio screw ups, I almost wish they would just use 1.33:1 for everything and leave it at that. It's such a shame, they knew enough to shoot in 1.78:1 but apparently keeping the CGI files and keeping your original shots after you cut it to 1.33:1 for TV is too difficult...
The Digital Bits mentioned recently SEs of Casablanca and The Deer Hunter coming out soon for R2, can anyone confirm that there will be SEs in R1 as well? -Jack
Did anyone else have a problem getting the DVDs out of their packaging (R1)? Mine were stuck in the box, and I almost had to rip the thing apart to get to the discs. I'm wondering if this is an isolated incident or not. Thanks, Jack
