I am trying to connect a radeon 8500DV to my pioneer 811s reciever but I cannot get the sound to work. Here is the way I have it set up The cable coax is coming into my computer. I can get the sound and picture on my computer Then I have the picture going straight to my TV, via S-video...
Go with a northwood! they are faster have more cache and run cooler. if he can aford it go for it. 533mhz bus is nice but still carries a hefty premium. stick with rdram if at all possible. though slightly off topic...have you considered an Athlon solution? When building your own system they...
I third that opinion about the graphics. Go with a geforce 4400 or the radeon 8500 64mb (cheaper, near same performance) the mobo is good-asus has a reputation for being fast and rock solid. you can check for specifics on the board at toms hardware if you want. I would downgrade your hard...
He I just saw a dreamcast with one controller at "software etc." I don't know if this is a national chain, but it was only $60 I think. Hope that helps
yes it does but I want a 5.1-6.1 setup and teh klipschs do only a 4.1 so I got two extra surrounds and am using them for a 6.1 system. Is there a better way to do this? thanks a bunch
what is low impedence high min wattage? does that mean that if I got a powerful amp my speakers would blow out? So you are saying that I just wont have a whole lot of power but I should be ok otherwise? sorry but I am a bit confused Thanks a bunch
Well I think I have decided on a reciecer, but before I make teh plunge I wanted your guys advice. I am getting the pioneer VSX-811s however I was wondering how much trouble will it have driving 4ohm speakers. i am still a bit new at this whole HT thing and don't want to get burned. The...
I have read the primer and searched the forum and as much as I could find online and I am just as confused as when I started with regards to different decoding systems. Now you have to understand that I am slower than your average slug and need lots of help. I am confused about what matrixed...
Thanks a lot on all of the suggestions I am considering most of them, however I also saw the Yamaha RX-V1200. Does anybody here know much about them are they any good? also what about the onkyo TX-sr600/700's are they any good?
thanks for the advice however if someone could recomend a reciever that can be used with 4ohm speakers and has 6.1 DD DPL II would be apreciated cause I watch a lot of VHS still-a lot of my collection is still in that format. Priced in the under $500 range would be lovely.
Well I already have the speakers so I am already comitted to it at leat for the short run. I am also trying to look on at a larger timframe. I can always upgrade the speakers later as well as the sub. Since this is my first system I doubt I can discern anything less than a substantial difference...
any suggestions for a reciever? also I think I can use a y connector to get the sub to go to the LFE out through the main speaker control; I think?!?! Thanks!!
I am new at this whole HT thing and desperatly need advice on a reciever. I am looking for a reciever that wont break the bank- sub $600 (college student, so not a big bank-less is better) I would like it to have 6.1 DD. I will be using it to run 6 klipsch promedia v.2-400 satillites + sub...
I am hoping to build an HT but am pretty new at this still. I have an idea so I want to run it by you all and see if it will work and sound good or could I do better for less $. 2 Klipsch Promedia v.2-400 satellites(I have these already on my computer) I would use these as surrounds 2...
Just a general question on HT. I know that it is important to get the same type of speakers across your mains and center chanels and accross your surrounds but does the Sub aslo have to match or can it be from a completely different company. If it is how will this affect my timbre? Thanks
Well I am looking in sub $500 and i would like to avoid HTIB and I want want something with descent sound and an upgrade path--perhaps I am too optimistic? Oh yeah, can I use a sound card (not mine -a new one, say... an audigy) to act as the processor/preamp?
Hi, I'm new here-hence i am in the newbie section. I am putting together my first HT system and I am trying to figure out what of my stuff I can use. I want to include my computer as the DVD player(it has a ATI AIW 8500DV graphics card so I can get composite out)-is this a reasonable...
