The Proof that DTS dosen´t cook their mixes is Gladiator.
Ridley Scott wanted to show the cruelty of roman carnage through sound and visuals, and the DTS track achieved that.
The DD just sounded flat without giving the right impact for the film.
Ok sorry if this kind of topic, but it was interesting.
Today i was switching channels, and i came across a local chanell, that on Mexico City (I live in Ciudad Juarez). They have been selling pornographic mangas, and i think that the thing was that it was a bootlegging buisness, just to win...
I have always been a fan of DTS, but also i had my reservations, i thought it was too annoyingly loud at times. I had to protect my eardrums, in fact i always asked the manager about the sound format and if he said. DTS i bringed my earmuffs. But when i saw Jurassic Park 3 last year, i...
Wes Anderson might allowed to add grain to the transfer to make it more dreamy. After all the whole film was dreamy, i knew i was in New York, but it seemed that it was another time, another unknowed place. Also he surpervised the transfer, so i am saying he did it on purpouse.
Yeah something like that guys. But it was fun to watch and not cheesey, it wasn´t like a Smurfs song or the Yub-Nub. But it was close to a Ewok dance, but it wasnt cheesey.
Just kidding. I once saw on CNN a behind the scenes thing that had all the hobbits dancing and singing and it was quite nice, not embarassing or cheesey.
THE ROYAL TENENBAUMS

I cannot call myself a Wes Anderson fan, since this has been the only film i have watched from him.
But with that said, now after watching this one, i truly do want to see Bottle Rocket and...
You might have heard from Eric Serra sometime. He is a french singer who is an excellent musician and guitarrist. He made the score for The Fifth Element and for many parts of Goldeneye. His scores are sleek and serviceable and fun to listen to. My favorite song from him is "Little...
Sorry for break the ice, but what is Bottle Rocket about?. I became huge Anderson fan after seeing The Royal Tenenbaums, and i am looking for Rushmore. But what is Bottle Rocket about?
Jeff is right.
But i am tired of re-buying my films, over and over again.
First VHS
Then Laserdisc
Then DVD
But in anycase DVHS it´s a nice format, very, very, very, nice. :emoji_thumbsup:
Though i seriously doubt that anyone has heard from the guy. He is perhaps the best filmaker in the independent film industry. I decided to start this thread because he is my favorite filmaker. Here we are going to discuss about his films, the soundtracks, the DVD´s, everything...
Does he have something against good acting too?. In the Time Machine he complained that Guy Pearce shouldn´t have acted in an excellent way his part. Not that TTM is a great film, but a heck of a popcorn film at least for 80 % of the audience.
It seemed that the original story was going to be a drama, also an action film, without a love story. About soldiers from Tenesse that happen to be in the PH attack.
