The Digital Bits reported in december last year in the rumor mill to look out for Escape From New York on blu-ray this year.I don't know if it's still on MGM's schedule.
Have to agree with mattfini on this one,Especially the comments about leatherface,i just got back from seeing the film with my cousin and tye 1st thing I said to him after seeing it was how much it wouldnt have mattered if you just threw letherface in there instead of jason.I was actually...
Looking forward to True Romance (one of my favourite films).I did notice that it says under the cover that the art is subject to change.I wish they could use the original poster art,I don't think any release has used it.

Recieved my copy of The Omen collection the other day and I was totally shocked at the very cheap packaging the discs came in.I don't know what Fox were thinking but the box is just about the cheapest looking and feeling thing i've ever seen, very flimsy indeed.I was expectring something at least...
Just saw the extras list on dvdtimes for Universal's Upcoming BD of The Thing and unless the u-control includes the bulk of the 80min documentary,The Thing:terror takes shape,Universal have shafted us yet again just like thay have with the BD of The Scorpion King :frowning:
lol well I like all kinds of films and actually bought this,so I for one am very interested to find out what other people think about the technical presentation of this *film*,so thanks for the review matt :)
Yeah it is a shame that the music has been replaced and the set is non-anamorphic but It cold be a hell of a lot worse, like not being released at all  If i hadnt looked online I wouldnt have even known that the music had been changed and while the replacement song is no where near as good...
Sorry about that. It's the region 1 release I'm talking about, thought I should mention that before you get your hopes up :frowning: I don't even know if BoP was ever even shown on tv in the U.K. but I'm probably wrong there.
Just recieved my copy of this set today. It is indeed non-anamorphic widescreen  It also contains a disclaimer on the back cover saying that some music has been replaced  I read somewhere that ALL the music has been replaced on the series finale, not sure if it means the...
Something no-one seems to have mentioned, and I dont know how many people are bothered about it,but the films in the blu-ray set and I'm assuming the new dvds too, contain the original Warner Bros. opening logo's from the time of each of the movies original releases instead of Warners usual...
One question about the set.I can't remember if there are any parts of the first film that are in french.I dont think there are but if I'm wrong can you tell us if there are english subs for these parts?
I recieved the japanese blu-ray of Danny The Dog (Unleashed) the other day and watched it last night.I thought the picture PQ was excellent and some really nice extras in there as well. The only downside to the disc is that there are no english subtitles during the french speaking parts in the...
Sony did the same thing with the blu-ray of The Replacement Killers,Whilst the deluxe dvd had the burned in subtitles during the scenes in cantonese, the blu-ray replaced them with player generated subtitles that overlap onto the black bar at the bottom of the screen.Extremely dissapointed in...
Who knows when we might see a region 1 release of the theatrical version.Even though it was mentioned on the Planet Terror dvd,I'm not hoding my breath for it,not if the Kill Bill:the whole bloody affair (non) release is anything to go by.
Can't seem to find any other info on here but on march 21st,japan is getting a nice boxset, that will include the 2 disc extended versions, another disc of extras AND the double feature version complete with the fake trailers.
The worst pan and scan travesty i've ever seen was Ridley Scott's Black Rain on the BBC here in the UK.This is no joke, they actually screened a Pan and scan version of a super35 film  It was something I never want to have the misfortune of ever seeing again
Managed to get my hands on a copy of Day watch today and i'm extremely dissapointed.Although It's unrated and includes bonus features not mentioned on the packaging namely a dorector's commentary, trailers and tv spots,Fox have really dropped the ball as far as I'm concerned with the...
30secs  Lucky man.Even with the firmware update,my S-300 takes at least 2mins before it starts.Sometimes it just says loading but won't even start and a couple of times the disc has froze after watching a few of the special features!
The changed logo's don't stop me buying the movies but it is really annoying when the do it.I loved the 70s WB logo/ puffy "W" at the start of Magnum Force as the main title music played over it.Shame it's gone now:frowning:
I know it might be a minor point but I really hate it when studios,Warner being a major offender, replace the studio logo at the beginning of the films. To me the logo can give a good indication of the period a film was made if you didn't know exactly and I just feel that sometimes a little piece...
Yeah,Robert Rodriguez mentions at the end of the 10min film school that the 10min cooking school will be on the Grindhouse 2 disc special edition dvd :)
