    Hitachi 57SWX20B price w/warranty

I was also comparing the two... the Toshiba 57HDX82 and the Hitachi 57SWX20B. Based on features alone, I was leaning toward the Hitachi. I don't think that the Toshiba is out yet for direct, side by side comparison. You said, your were about to "pull the trigger" and get a 57HDX82. Have you...

    Hitachi 57SWX20B price w/warranty

I have the usual question... for the Hitachi 57SWX20B and 3 year warranty (Great Indoors-Sears)...is $3150 a good price.? I know the retail price is $3200 so this seems to be a good deal. I guess it depends on how good The Great Indoors (Sears) warranty is. I also will have 0% financing...

Panasonic TU-HDS20 HDTV rcvr reset !?!?!

Not sure if this is the correct forum.... I bought the TU-HDS20 HDTV rcvr about a week ago and other than it being very slow, seemed to work fine. I rcvd the 8.10 upgrade which has sped things up significantly but when I am deleting channels from "favorites" it turns itself off an resets...

    Tosh 57H82 versus Tosh 57HX81

You can get some general info about the Toshiba on their website. There have been a number of press releases for both the standard line and Cinema Series. There is some info about new features but not a lot of details. All the 82's have some significant new features.

    Tosh 57H82 versus Tosh 57HX81

I know the new Cinema Series 57" (57HDX82)won't be out until Aug/Sept so I'm considering getting the Tosh 57H82 as it should be out any day now. I can't wait much longer !!! The 50H82 is already out. Does any one have thoughts on how the 57H82 should stack up against last year's 57HX81 ...as...

    Which size Toshiba ?

Thanks for the input... It sounds like I still have the same dilema. Brighter picture with the 57" but due to percieved "shrinking" the 65" may be the way to go from a 9' viewing distance. Thanks for the link re: viewing distance.

    Which size Toshiba ?

I'm sure this has been asked many times... From a 9' viewing distance... which would be the best size Toshiba to get? The 57" or the 65"? Is there such a thing as too big for a space? Is there a "rule of thumb" for size of the screen and viewing distance? I'm leaning toward the 57"...

    Tosh 50H82 is out!

The new Toshibas are slowly making it to market. OneCall.com just got the 50H82 this morning. I hope the 57" and 65" will be right behind. ...Trying to wait patiently for the Cinema series but may have to wait 'till Aug/Sept !!!!

    Best HDTV for $3K ????

I've done a lot of shopping and have not been able to make a decision so I'm asking for opinions.... Some background.... I will be watching DVD's 20% and standard def satellite the rest of the time - though I'd also like to go into HD OTA and/or HD satellite quickly. I don't mind starting...

    New Toshiba HDtvs

I've always understood it to be the other way around. I have a 5 yr old Hitachi 36inch which has been great..but I recall that when I bought it, the saleman told me Toshiba actually makes the picture tube. At the time, I believe he said there were only 5 manufacturers of tubes - Toshiba...

    57h81 vs 57hx81

Matt, That's my understanding too. I guess what I'm wondering is about the detailed specs - specificaly with the screen and optics. What is the lenticular screen pitch? 4 element or 5 element lenses ...those sort of techno geek questions. Are both XXX82 models to be the same as far as...

    57h81 vs 57hx81

What are the differences between the Toshiba 57h81 and 57hx81? I know there are some differences in the sound system. What about the optics? I'm actually trying to hold off and wait for the 2002 models. Does anyone know if the 57h82 and 57hdx82 will have the same differences as the XXX81...

    General Usage ???

I have what is probably a dumb question... Is it ok to have a rear projection HDTV (such as Tosh 57h81) as your main television? To clarify... My TV gets heavy usage - 6hrs a night and just about all weekend. I watch mostly standard satellite TV (70% Satellite & 30% DVD)and plan on mixing in...

    New Toshiba HDtvs

OK - I spoke to Toshiba customer service and spoke to a wonderful rep re: when exactly the 57h82 and 65h82 will be avail. She initially said that she does not have that info but 30 minutes later, I rcvd a call back from her. She said, the "home office," indicated those two models will be...

    New Toshiba HDtvs

Yes, Please keep us posted. If you get ahold of your rep - hit him/her with all the questions! I'm very anxious to get the 57h82 if, in fact, it has at least DVI upgradeability and will be out in a month or two. When avail? Features? DVI? Dimensions? Cost? Native 480p etc...

    New Toshiba HDtvs

Thanks for the info. If the 57H82 will be DVI upgradeable, that's good enough for me...And if it will out within the next month, I will wait for it. One very attractive point for the Mitsu ws55859 (all Mitsu) was the upgradeability to IEEE or potentialy DVI. If The Tosh 57h82 has...

    New Toshiba HDtvs

I was told by a Toshiba cust srv rep that the new models have started coming out - beginning in May. This seems accurate based on the fact that Best Buy is already advertising the 50h72 in this past Sunday's flyer. I'm trying to hold off and wait for the new Toshibas that I've heard will have...

    Tosh57hx81 & DST3000 vs Mitsu ws55859

Can anyone confirm that the new Toshibas will have DVI and if so, when will they be out? I'd like to get the 57hx81 and DST3000 tuner but could hold off a month or two if the new models have DVI. Will there be a 57hx81 equivalent with DVI? If it's not for another 6 months then I'd probably...

    Tosh57hx81 & DST3000 vs Mitsu ws55859

The majority of my viewing for the time being will be analog satelite. Given this, which should I go with - Toshiba 57hx81 and HDTV tuner DST3000 or Mitsubishi ws55859? What are the major benefits or drawbacks of each? I probably would only use the DST3000 for OTA HDTV as I love my RCA with...
