Jeff, I realize this a difficult one, but are there any plans to add some form of automatic speaker calibration, à la Pioneer and Yamaha lately? It seems to me that they may have found something to make a difference on the 'larger' consumer market. Personally I think it can't be long before...

Thanks Carl (and the rest of you), I'm just worried about the look of a isobaric sonotube. Driver sticking out, ugly long legs. I'm considering the DT300 amp, will I need two of them to power the two Tempests? With the long ports needed with isobaric design, wouldn't I loose most of the volume...

Thanks people for all the input so far. As I had a very hard time finding my 18"x48" piece of sonotube, I will start with the 175L allignment. (I can always make it smaller later on...) I will go for a vented design and at the same time providing a way to close the port to enable sealed/vented...

Indeed, I've never understood myself how people EXACTLY define their port lengths, because with all the programs it's like turning around in circles... Your tactic will surely help me. Thanks. :wink:

Download all the ZIP files together with the Unibox program. Then import all the (unpacked) files. After having appended all files, sort on name. You should be able now to find the Shiva in the list (just before the Tempest). Sven.

Try Unibox once. I find it to be much more flexible and it gives me more information. And it takes into account the amount of stuffing. Just my idea...

So sealed sub performance in real life seems like a question of hope based on more or less room gain? Is this room gain as important with a vented design? Would an anechoic F3 of let's say 23Hz give me a in room F3 of maybe 14Hz? (in your case from 35Hz to 20Hz) If I understand well sealed...

The 900 is the latest top model receiver from onkyo, at least in Europe. Check www.onkyo.de for the details.

Maybe you could look at the 1011/2011, 43TX/45TX in the States I believe. They have variable cross-over settings.
