    SVS subwoofer connection **Tip

Nice choice. I can say that my nsd/2 has never bottomed out. So with the ultra, I'm sure you most definitely won't have that problem anymore. Good luck with your future purchase.

    SVS subwoofer connection **Tip

Haha, good try! :D You will get one eventually. That's how I felt before I bought mine. Kept trying to come up with the money for a PB12 Plus/2 but ended up just going with an NSD/2. I was skeptical about buying from there "entry" level line. Well long story short, I am amazed at how well it...

    SVS subwoofer connection **Tip

Cool, thanks for the info fellas. I'm sure it is just louder and maybe it's an illusion that it sounded better. I did recalibrate and my I swear the bass sounded different (better/fuller) but who knows maybe I calibrated it a little different this time making it sound better. Thanks for the links!

    SVS subwoofer connection **Tip

So I have had my SVS PB12- NSD/2 sub for about 2 years now and it has been amazing. Love it to death. I have it connected from my H/K AVR347 via a 50ft. interconnect coax cable that I got from SVS. The other day I was reading through some HT content somewhere on the net. I saw something about...

    Opinions arrangement (5.1 Setup)

The sliding doors are the only windows in the room and they have fabric vertical blinds that block most of, if not all light. All the other openings are actually doorways. So I don't think I have to be to worried about lighting. At least I hope not. ;) Getting some reclining chairs down the...

    Opinions arrangement (5.1 Setup)

The sub woofer is HUGE and pretty limited to that corner unfortunately. My tv is rear projection and on a stand so that limits location even more. My current setup in the old house is even more limited and the sub is currently behind my love seat. I hate its location but there wasn't really...

    Opinions arrangement (5.1 Setup)

Just had another idea pop in my head while slow at work. How about this setup? I guess my main concern is the sub being located next to the seating position like in option #1. I don't think that is a recommended location... right? I've been led to beleive it is best to locate the sub in line...

    Opinions arrangement (5.1 Setup)

Yes, this will pretty much be the main hang out spot (watching TV, movies, listening to music, playing video games and ect...). NOT a dedicated theater by any means. I just want to make the best of it for now until I do some major reconstructing. You have a very good point. You opinion is much...

    Opinions arrangement (5.1 Setup)

Hello, I just purchased a new home and I'm looking for some opinons and/or recommendations for my 5.1 setup in the den. This is of course until I knock down the wall between the formal living room and den to create a good sized "great" room (in a year or so). Anyways, here are some quick (non...

JBL or Klipsch? Pick from these models plz

Hey, I actually just went through this same debate a few months ago. I listened to both sets at best buy. They had them set up terribly, go figure...lol. Anyways, the best buy employees recommended the klipsch simply because they cost more. When I asked why, the simply said, "ummm, well they...

    Cheap quality speakers.

Look into the Venue Series from JBL. They are pretty good for the price. I have the "Stages" (soon to be studios or stadiums), "Balconys" and the "Voice" matched with my SVS PB12-NSD/2 and it sounds impressive. They are powered by my H/K AVR-247. I was honestly shocked at how well the Venue...

    Wtb: Hk Avr 325/225

Hello, I am looking to buy an HK AVR 225 or preferably a 325 for around $300. I am wanting to upgrade my current RCA receiver as recommended by some people on here a while ago in this thread. So if anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate it! Or if anyone knows where I can...

    Any software for my laptop?

Mike, I am starting to understand it a little better now. So all I have to do is get all the parts and make the connections like shown here: Then just take away the BFD.... right? I have a problem though! I am not using a powered sub. My receiver has a built in pre amp. I think this is why...

    Receiver Sound Levels

Well if you listen to your music and play Dreamcast in PLII and whatch DVD's in DD & DTS, i'm pretty sure that the DVD's should play about the same. I'm not sure about your kenwood receiver but on mine each mode has there own individual settings. I'm sure you have made the proper settings and...

    Receiver Sound Levels

Jason, When you are playing Dreamcast or listening to your cd player, are you listening to them in Stereo? When you watch your DVD's are you listening in Dolby Digital/Pro Logic (Surround Sound) or stereo? If you do listen/watch your DVD's in a surround format i'm pretty sure that it is...

    Any software for my laptop?

Thanks for the response! Okay, I am a little confused! First of all, i'm new to all of this so it's kind of hard to understand it all at ounce. So here's what I did.... I read the thread and all the links given (which is what made me confused a bit), then I downloaded the software and...

    Any software for my laptop?

This is a stupid question, but I'll ask anyway. Is there any type of software I can download off the internet onto my laptop and use a microphone to record my stereo to see how low the bass goes or how high, stuff like that? I'm just wondering. If so can you tell me where? Thanks! Tony

    Newbie here and a question!

Thanks for all the responds! Starting to get a little worried here, am I going to break something? ;) I have had this setup for like a month and a half and everything has been fine, except for the bare bass spots. For example: if I sit on the end of my bed (where everyone happens to sit when I...

    Newbie here and a question!

Neil, I understand what you are saying, but I don't have 4 separate sub woofers, only one. I have 4 12" woofers all together (2 in each front speakers). Here are a couple pics: I just snapped these pics real quick and shrunk them a bit. Don't mind the dust and the wire mess...lol...

    Newbie here and a question!

This is my first post here, so hello everyone! You guys will probably think I have a "low end" home theater but I am only 16 and don't have a job yet, so its good enough for me :). I didn't have much of a choice with some of my equipment either. So here is what I got: - RCA RT2500 - I gave...
