Mark, I DVD is not progressive scan unfortunately.. and I don't have another DVD aside from my XBOX which is connected using S-Video. I just stuck something between the Yb and Yr connection and so far it's not bad. I think it's the cables but I don't know

Stephen, What do you mean by humming noise? Doesn't the ISOBAR6DBS have COAX protection?

I don't know notice the XBOX's fan being loud. I have a stand alone DVD player and have used the XBOX to watch DVD movies and I never notice any fan noise from the XBOX. Unless you mute the sound I don't believe you can hear any fan noise. At least not on the XBOX i have.
