Roger, As far as i know, if you dont have pre-outs for the powered amp, then you will not be able to do this. You may want to look into getting the next model level for the HK and that one i am sure has the pre-puts.

The player is connected using a HDMI cable from the DVD player to the TV. I receive a message of "unable to read the disc"

Felix, Good to hear, I just got my monitor silver series last week and my SVS sub PS12 plus/2. I love the sound of the monitor speakers too. The silver series has made a huge improvement on my old system and you have the gold series is must be that much better.
