    axiom discussion...

I couldn't be happier with my M22's. I keep upgrading my electronics, and they keep improving with every upgrade - simply amazing speakers for the money. I got mine from the Factory Outlet as well ($320 at the time), and haven't questioned my decision once since buying them. I plan on purchasing...

JBL s26 vs axiom m22's...which one?

Thanks for pointing out that drop-down box. I think I read was the article in March, but I don't know if it was a new March article or just an old article that I happened to be reading in March...my memory isn't that clear that far back, unfortunately. I'm going to email Axiom and ask about...

JBL s26 vs axiom m22's...which one?

Hmmm... There is a post older than the one you link to there, but I wasn't able to find it with the search function on their boards...perhaps the search only goes back so far. The one you found there doesn't go into much detail, unfortunately. If you're interested, you should probably go ahead...

JBL s26 vs axiom m22's...which one?

Peter, I'd take a look at the axiom forums - a LOT has been written on this topic. The designer recently wrote a post on the VP150's layout, and it should answer some of your questions. There are also a number of people who have used M3's as centers w/o complaints. I'm still deciding on this...

JBL s26 vs axiom m22's...which one?

It sounds like you need to decide exactly what your budget is and what you want to buy with it. The Axioms and JBL's are in completely different classes in terms of both price and performance. I've heard both speakers, and there is just no comparison - and considering that the Axioms are over...

    Adire Rava Review query

I made the same decision myself a few months ago. Based on what I found, the Rava seems to be stronger for music, while the VTF-2 seems to be stronger for HT. I listen to more music than HT by far, so I opted for the Rava and haven't regretted my decision for a moment. For the price, it is a...

New addition at AV123: Rocket Speakers

The new line seems to use metal woofers. I haven't heard anything with the Vifa ring tweeter, but it is possible that AV123 wanted a brighter-sounding line to appeal to those who don't like the sound of the Divas, which as I understand it, are more laid-back. I'd certainly like to hear what...

    Axiom and Sibilance

The receiver is definitely a significant factor. I was experiencing this problem on certain recordings with my M22's and an H/K AVR70 receiver. I recently replaced it with a H/K PT2500/PA5800 pre/amp combo, and all those hard s's are gone. Eric

New amp, annoying buzz, need elec help

The thing is that the sub never buzzes and the same sub and the same cable didn't cause any buzz when hooked up to my old receiver. I am just completely confused here. I will try to use a different interconnect to hook it up, though. Eric

New amp, annoying buzz, need elec help

All, Ok, I found the source of the buzz, but I'm now more confused than ever! When I unplugged the subwoofer interconnect cable from my preamp, the buzzing stopped. At first this made some sense to me, because the sub does have a grounded power cord, and since it is on the other side of the...

New amp, annoying buzz, need elec help

All, Thanks for the tips. I will certainly try disconnecting my cable when I get back home. However, could this be the problem even though there was no buzz with my old receiver? My preamp doesn't have a ground plug either, actually. I figured that since changing the volume on it doesn't...

    Axiom M22ti's or M40ti's?

Jason, Your sub is more of a HT sub than a music sub, so the fact that the M40's goes lower w/o a sub makes it better suited to your situation. And the toddler factor is certainly enough to seal it - the M22's on stands are not stable enough to stand up to a solid bump. I'd go with the M40's...

    Axiom M22ti's or M40ti's?

I'm not sure I agree with that. It probably depends on what type of music you listen to. No question that the M40 has deeper bass, but the M22 integrates quite well with a good sub. I use my M22's with an Adire Rava sub, and it reproduces tight, fast bass very well indeed. The M22 will also...

New amp, annoying buzz, need elec help

Hi, I recently replaced my H/K AVR70 with separates - an H/K PA5800 with a PT2500 preamp. It works fine, but there is an audible background buzz that comes through the speakers now. It comes through each speaker equally loud, and changing the volume level of the preamp does not change the...

    axiom m2ti

Again, I haven't heard the M2Ti's, but I can safely say that Axioms sounds nothing like Klipsch. If you like the Klipsch sound, then the Axioms probably aren't for you and you'd be happier with the Klipsch.

    axiom m2ti

The M2i *is* the upgraded M2Ti, and it will have the same tweeter as the VP150. The M2Ti (the one currently available) does not. I also find it to be a bit of a bad sign that the Axiom message boards never mention the M2Ti, which is why I feel the M2i might be worth waiting for.

    axiom m2ti

As I haven't heard either one, I can't really say how much better it is, but if you want to use a VP150, the m2i would match much better as it uses the same tweeter. I agree the $180 special is a great deal - perhaps it is worth giving them a call and seeing what they say.

    Axiom M60

I can't speak for the M60's specifically, but with my M22's, it was night and day after about 50 hours of break-in time.

    axiom m2ti

Axiom is soon coming out with a replacement for the M2ti, the M2i. It is the same speaker, but with the same tweeter used in the M3, M22 and towers as opposed to the hybrid tweeter used in the smaller bookshelves. This should make a significant difference and is worth the wait. I obviously...

    Axiom M80

I haven't seen it in person, but if you look at the measurements, it isn't *that* big...40" high, I believe. Tall, but not unusually tall. Keep in mind that those woofers are only 6.5", so it's not that wide, either. Eric

Help me figure out what to do

For mostly music, take a look at the Adire Rava subwoofer at www.adireaudio.com. For $399, it's an absolute steal. 12" driver, sealed cabinet, and 250W amp. Sounds amazing - search the forums, and you'll find plenty of reviews and comments. Eric

    Axioms VS Swans Divias

I believe the review he is referring to is: http://www.cheaphometheater.com/Speaker%20Shootout.htm This is the only one I've seen that compares them both, but note that the comparison is between the $400 Diva 2.1's and the $275 Axiom M3's. Obviously, the $400 Axiom M22's would probably be a...

    HELP! i need expert advice

In terms of the gauge of the cable, it will theoretically only matter if you have a long length of cable. I believe that 16 gauge is good for up to a 30ft run (but doubling might be a good idea for the rears just to be safe); after that, doubling it would be a noticeable improvement. 16g should...

    HELP! i need expert advice

If you got that receiver as a gift, it's definitely not worth buying a new one. There are certainly better receivers out there, but the 1075 seems like a solid, versatile unit, and it will certainly serve you well for the time-being. Eventually, you'll want to upgrade, but the Sony should be...

Which Axiom setup would be better for movies?

Yuli, I don't think you can go wrong with any of these selections, but my personal pick for a system that is primarily for movies, not music, would be: M40's in the front (much better bass) VP150 in the center (from what I've heard, just much better than VP100) QS4's in the rear (you...

    Non-Axiom center with Axiom mains

Rich, It was in the Axiom email newsletter that came out this morning. You can sign up on the front page of the Axiom website, www.axiomaudio.com. I, too, thought of the possibility of using these new speakers as rears; with the improved tweeter, I'm sure they'd perform quite well in that...

    Non-Axiom center with Axiom mains

Everyone, Thanks for all of your help - you really got me thinking here... The MTM/TMMMT is what was making me hesitant to go with the Axiom center. I use my system primarily for music, so I don't want to pick a great center and find matching mains, but rather keep the mains I like (the...

    Non-Axiom center with Axiom mains

I currently use Axiom M22's as my main speakers, and I am looking to buy a center. I understand that it is highly reccommended to use centers and mains from the same manufacturer to create a matching soundstage, but the Axiom centers don't seem to be as good as their other speakers from what...

SURVEY: Are you willing to sacrifice A LITTLE sound quality for MUCH BETTER looks?

If one sounds only a bit better, but the other looks much better, then the better-looking speaker is the better value. While sound is certainly more important than looks, a good speaker is a combination of both, and the good-looking speaker represents the better value.
