put your ear right up to the tweeter and listen for noise. i blew my tweeter on cc170, i took it back and they put in a new one. they didnt even need the reciept.
i hooked up an amp with some cheap unshielded cables that were run along the mass of all my other cables and such and i about blew my ears out with electrical noise when i turned the amp on.
i have an idea, many companies gain reputation through magazine reviews. i wouldnt be suprised if particular audio companies pay big bucks to certain audio magazines to give favorable reviews of their product. the reason i think this is because now and than i will read a review of a product that...
im gonna build an amp, put some lead bars in it to way it down, paint it silver, give it a fancy name like (shuni tower), and than sell it for 10,000 bucks.
aside from the marketing and the speculation has anyone actually opened a reciever and opened a pre/pro of the same brand and compared the two. or even listened to both side by side (using reciever as a pre/pro)? is any one affiliated with an audio company and have inside info?
so let me get this straight..pre/pros are marketed towards a small group of people. and recievers to the mass. so what about the actuall circuitry of a particular company say dennon. is the circuitry higher quality in their middle of the line pre/pro vs middle of the line reciever. im mean...
thanks that helps out...let me tell you what i want to do, what equipment i have, and what my idea is. this is what im trying to do; im trying to build a system that is very musical that i can use for both music and hometheater. i am on a tight budget though. i listen to about 70/30...
thanks, do you think it would be a good idea to buy an inexpensive marantz reciever and use the pre outs with my amps. or a pricier one and use the preouts. I guess what im asking is, what makes a cheap reciever cheap compared to a more expensive one of the same brand, where do they cut the most...
i have a pioneer dolby pro logic reciever with no pre outs. paradigm atoms for mains optimus' in the rear. i want better sound especially with music. i have a pair of marantz mono amps though but nothing to hook them up to any suggestions on good budget upgrades?
yeah im gonna upgrade the atoms later. but right now im in possesion of 2 marantz mono blocks that are gathering dust. i think im gonna go with a marantz dd reciever and connect outputs to my mono blocks.(im on a change in the couch budget) anyways how does anthem, outlaw, sherwood-newcastle...
By the way I got the atoms/reciever and Im upgradeing to seperates, what are you guys using for your paradigms and why did you choose your particular equipment?
