Hi Zach, Sounds like a fun project. I made a ported SonoTube sub using Adire's 12" Shiva for my 20' x 17' Bonus room. It puts out a lot of bass. Which means a sealed Temptest will be fine for your room. I live in the Raleigh area so let me know if you need any help. Eduardo
Thanks Mike. Stability was a major concern and I didn't want to use any hardware. Dados make a strong joint. Here's another shot since I painted the back wall. The red wall really brings out the stain. Painted wall
I built this cabinet with 3/4" Oak Plywood. All the shelves are dado'd into the center side wood. I also used peg board to allow ventilation. This box is strong enough for me (190 lbs) to stand on. take a look and let me know what you think. Custom Cabinet
Michael Thanks for the response. I only have a Sony reciever that will powering the speaker. It will support 4ohm speakers. When did you hear about the new speaker from Adire. I'm going to have to send an e-mail to Dan. Eduardo
Great job. :emoji_thumbsup: I'm very interested in the Kit281 speaker, did you build them? I plan on building a pair of front speakers and the Kit281s is #1 on my list. Any perspective would be helpful.
If you have the time you may want to look into CAT cables or any of it sister cable companies. They are high quality cables (audio and video) for a reasonable price.

Well after 6 months I finally completed my Shiva Sonosub - ShivaSS. To sum up my impressions in one word: WOW!!!
Thanks to everybody who helped.

I'm looking for advice for my Sonosub design (AGAIN). I have cut the endcaps, made the base, cut the port hole, bought the port(flared) and hardware except the driver.
Port(D): 4"
Port(L): 17.5"
Tuned: 16.7 Htz
Sonotube(ID): 18"
Sonotube(L): 39"
According to to my calculation...
John,
If your player is able to read CD-Text then it should be able to display the Track information. I am using both Nero and Adaptec (V4.x ?). Copying a CD will download the CD information and if burned from MP3's I have to do some editing. When I burn a cd either copying or creating a MP3...
Peter, I am still working on my sonotube, 3 months and counting. Not becuase of difficutly but time. Anyways a few other items that you might want to consider; terminals for sub and/or amp, spikes for bottom of the base, hardware to attach the legs.
I'm bringing back this old thread becuase I am going to be finishing my sub soon :emoji_thumbsup:. Completing this project has taken a lot longer than I hoped.
Anyways - I made an PAB similar to Pat Sun's and Ron P's. My question is ventelation. Should I drill vent holes in the box or leave it...
Brian - who do you work for? Atlanta is a major network hot bed. I know AT&T (old business partner) and Qwest (new business partner) have MegaPOPs in Atlanta.
There is another forum site - DBSFORUMS.COM - they might be able to help you with your questions. I just recently joined Dish. It was a financial decision. My local cable company wanted way to much money for "Digital Cable". I even called and told them that I would like a better rate or I...
What about the DACs in a CD Jukebox? They tend to spin the CD vertically. I own a Sony CXP-400 cd player and a Sony STR-DE835 reciever. Which DAC is better?
What if I don't go with the PVR. Is the deal for 3 rooms w/ 3 receivers any good? Can I buy any DD receiver and use it with the Dish network? sorry about the dumb questions but I am new to the satellite arena. If you had a choice would you go with Direct or Dish?
How about the Dish network? i am currently looking into getting the dish network for 3 rooms including 3 receivers for $47.00/Mo with $50.00 set up charge. This promotion also gives you free installation and 3 months free. You can also upgrade one of the receivers to the PVR 501 for a 1 time...
My equipment is currently sitting inside an armories and it is difficult dust. I currently using cut down yard stick and one of those static dust wipes. I wrap one end with the wipe and I can fit it between the components and the shelving above and below. It also reaches all the way to the back.
I too remember the old Crazy Eddie commercials.
"Crazy Eddie" Antar
Crazy Eddie’s low-low prices on TVs and stereos were "insane." But there was nothing crazy about Eddie Antar. While the family fought like cats and dogs, Eddie and his cousin Sammy were running a $100-million stock fraud...
Dustin - I have the 4" flared port kit from Madisound. I am currently building my sonosub and I haven't cut the port yet. My understanding is that if the port is flared at both ends then the total length should be 1" greater than the desire port length. Can you confirm this. Thanks for the...
Pat as always - you the man. I also built my amp box this weekend. I used Ron-P's design. I will probably be using a terminal cup too. I started my web page, so pics of Sonsub construction and amp box will be up soon.
