Changing speakers possibly, Klipsch RF7's to ?

You may want to look into Link Removed I've finally got my speakers but have not yet got my amp. I'm very impressed with these(s150's) especially for their size even being driven by a mediocre receiver. This is the first speaker i've ordered without auditioning first but I can say it was a...

THX2 Cert up'n the anti for subs?

There are two catagories for subs, you have to check subwoofers and powered subwoofers.

    B&W and Klipsch

I have heard b&w's not sure which model, it was at the dealer but for their price I couldn't ever justify buying them. In my search for speakers before I had bought klipsch I had auditioned bw, paradigm, infinity, def tech, polk, and so on. In the end I came home with a pair of klipsch rf7's...

new to HT just purchased some equipment

Your receiver will be fine for klipsch speakers. Some may say it'll be too "bright" however its a matter of opinion or taste. Myself I have found yamaha to sound awesome with klipsch speakers even more so than my own denon 4802 did.

Let me also add, by interpreting it the way I feel Lewis is I see where he is coming from. If you HAVE to run your setup in true dd or dts without faking or sending any channels somewhere else, yes, the center would play a large role. Basically, you could look at it as what if during the movie...

The most important speaker in a HT is....

Its a process of elimination, which one can you live most without....Yes when all 5 are playing a dd track the center is the easiest to "re-create" somewhere else. Some could say the sub is but I doubt too many mains can dip into the low-low end so basically without the sub you lose more of the...

Upgraded: Floorstanding & Center Suggestions for $5,000 or less

Allen, yes, the lower the ohms the higher the input watts will be. Ohms are a measure of resistance, the less resistance the more power is allowed to go through. However, this can be hard on a low or mid end receiver. It can cause extreme heat because its putting a larger load on the equipment...

Need some help with speaker choices... Dalhquist, Axiom, JBL, Klipsch

Ok, I just looked into the qx9's and I would have to say the rf3's will trounce them just judging by specs. The rf3s have dual 8" woofers vs qx9's 6" and the rf3's use a very efficient horn tweeter to achieve high volume and great clarity. Sensitivity on teh qx9's is 93db vs the rf3's 102db. And...

http://www.reliableaudiovideo.com/klipschrf3.html link for the rf3's. i don't have experience with the dahlquist so I can't really comment but I can say the klipsch is ALOT of bang for the buck at these prices.

Also, check out this package http://www.reliableaudiovideo.com/klrfrsrcksye.html maybe give them a call and see what you could get it at minus the sub. I think the sub should knock quite a bit off the total.

Need some help with speaker choices... Dalhquist, Axiom, JBL, Klipsch

I think I would look more into the rf3 II's than the rf15's. They are an older model but also a more expensive speaker offered at more of a discount because of their new line. I own a set of them still and am very impressed. They are the only klipsch speakers I kept when I decided to go to a...

Allen get you a pair of klipsch RF7's. This is about the only cure for what is sounds like you need. If these don't blow you away with there loud, in your face performance then I don't think there is much else that will. I recommend shopping at americantv. They will bargain down with you on the...

The most important speaker in a HT is....

Ok, going with the assumption or the understanding that you are stuck with all speakers, no elimination intended. I would have to go along with the mains being most important over all. I would choose for my mains to be the highest quality speaker in the entire setup. As for the others, I would...

Not sure on the model but i know its an older receiver. It only supports 5.1. I believe it was around $1000 when it came out.

    M&k 750 Ii Thx

I was thinking more along the lines of the yamaha sound than the actual power I guess. I know that my 4802 with my klipsch set up sounded pretty good but a friend of mine has the same klipsch setup with a yamaha that just blows me away. The sound is unreal that comes out of those things. I think...

Curtis, not really directing it at you just stating that I read alot of posts where people say if you like klipsch you won't like such and such. I don't find that true at all.

    Axiom vs. Klipsch

I think its funny that everyone thinks that if you like the klipsch sound you won't like anything else. In fact, I like the klipsch sound and have yet to hear a speaker that I absolutely couldn't stand. I've heard many that have left me thinking "wow, is this all it can do" but never have I...

Properly positioned mains will make the dialogue sound like its coming from the center. Ok, consider this. If you were going to start building a home theater system and you were on a strict budget allowing only a few things at a time. I'm betting your first purchase would not be a center...
