I own one and highly recommend........:b
Gregg Loewen from the State of Maine up here in the Northeast who is one fantastic calibrator. He tours the country working his magic so if you have not had your set done; he is the man.
Did my 40xbr700 three weeks ago and the picture looks absolutely stunning. As Shawn's wife noticed an...
I have been a customer there since the early 80's (put a PROTON tape deck in my new 83 ACCORD back then)and have spent thousands there since.
Last July I bought a 32XBR450 and when I saw the 40xbr700 and wanted one they allowed me to trade up in December with full credit on the 32 that I had...
they may be priced high but they last and last. I loved the mach 3 but this one is even better. I could shave 3 times a day and my wife would still complain but this blade is by far the best I have ever used. I'll gladly pay the price.
Harley not sure but I think the 800 is the 2002 replacement for the 700. I didn't go with the sony stand for two reasons; didn't like the looks and needed space for 6 components. Searched long and hard before I found what I ended up with; a piece made by schroers & schroers who I had never heard...
Jeff have you considered a new cabinet?? It would be a shame to buy a unit only so that it fits your furniture. As I said I went from 32 to 36 to 40 and am not looking back. Granted it is more $$$ but wouldn't you rather only have to do this once???
Good luck.
Jack love the 40; especially after Gregg Loewen got hold of her. Put up a CM 4228 on the roof last weekend for Boston HD locals and I couldn't be happier. Even non HD Boston OTA locals look far superior than the directv compressed signal.
All is great..........
Just one; maybe size.
I bought the 32 and wished I had gone with the 36 for DVD's & HD 16:9. Problem solved for me though went from the 32 to the 40xbr700.
Be sure before you sign the deal.....
John_St I live about 30 miles from you. If you are interested you are welcome to come to my house for a show and tell on my HD 4:3 set and a little education.
My first color TV I owned was a JVC 20" back in 78 (+/- a year). It had a real wood case and had was model number (I'm guessing) 7820 or 7830 something I think. It was a dynamite set I was talked into by the salesman after walking in the store planning to buy a sony. It was cheaper and actually...
Had a channelmaster 4228 put up yesterday so I can get Boston locals in HDTV and have a question. In addition to regular digital channel 7 (7.1) I also am receiving a channel 7.2 that is full screen on my 40xbr700 through sony hd100 stb. The 7.1 channel is 31" as are all the other Boston locals...
James, I can reply to your #1; ISF Calibration make a positive difference?? ABSOLUTELY. I had my 40xbr700 calibrated by Gregg Loewen who is ISF and the results are nothing short of amazing. I can honestly say that all three of your categories improved dramatically but if I had to choose one it...
