Hey out there. I have purchased the 1400 , and am finishing the setup and have a concern. I have a slightly older Tosh 65h80 HDTV, and it has only 2 HD inputs. I am keeping my DTV HD box directly into the Tosh, and using my Yamaha for video switching. I think I notice a quality loos when...
I do not quite understand what that means. But, how about leave it and get a sub ( SVS 20-39pc plus ?) that would be big enough to handle the adjoining room? Thanks!
I am leaning towards closing it off. My wife is concerned with making the house look " small " with it closed. If, the room would be 18x11 closed, what size sub would you guys go with?
Hello out there. Quick question about my home theater room. I have a room that is 18x11, with a open 4th wall that goes into an identical siz room. All my speakers and subwoofer is in the one room, and I was thinking of upgrading my sub. I use the Energy 5.2 system with their 8'sub and a...
Hey, thanks for the reply Brad. I have the 8' sub from Energy, and a 10 sub from Kenwood that really old working together with my 5,2s. It actually makes me wonder if I will notice that much of a difference. Sure would love to hear from someone that has upgraded the 5,2 with a better sub to give...
Thank you. I do calibrate my speakers with the radio shack analog. I was wondering though, if anyone has upgraded the 5.2 system with a better su, and what they thought.
John, thanks for the reply.I have a room that is 18 x 11 and use an Energy 5.2 system with 2 subs. One is the 8'Energy sub and the other is a 10' old Kenwood. I am trying very hard to find the right configuration for my system to give it a fair evaluation. I am really leaning towards an upgrade...
What if having them the same distance seperated as away from the listening position means that they are near or very close to the side walls. Would that be alright? Also on many sites I see pictures of peoples speakers and they are right up against their tvs.
I am leaning towards the 60s, mostly because I like the look and don't want to be bothered with stands. I was wondering if 12 ft away was too close for the 60s though. What do you think? A door makes it impossible to hang my Qs8s to my sides at ear level, so my choices are: 1)Slightly in front...
I just got the OK to purchase some Axioms to replace my Energy 5.2 system! I am going VP150, 2 Qs8s, but cannot decide on the M60 or M22s. I will be getting a HSU STF2 sub. Would like to get moving on this, but am not sure. Any thoughts? Thanks
Oh, do you think that the 2.2 center for the 5.2 system with a c-1 front upgrade would not be a good match? That center is alitle expensive. Would the c -1s be ok if I laid them on their sides? I dont think that they will work on my 2.2 stands. They will however go nicely on my bookcase, but on...
Thanks Gary, our rooms seem exactly rhe same. Been thinking of many things to change, but my 5.2s really do almost satisfy me. I am leaning towards this move. Thanks
Would Energy Connoisseur C-1s be a good upgrade for my 5.2 system? I was thinking of buying a pair for and keep my center and surrounds. Maybe add the existing 5.2s for side surrounds when I go 7.1, now I have 5.1. Thanks
I was wondering because my Denon has no crossover control ( I think ). My Energy sub has a crossover input that bypasses the subs controls, and an input that uses them. Which in my case would be best? Any idea?
Hi out there. My question is regarding my subwoofer set up for my Energy 5.2 system. I run it with a Denon 2800 receiver, and am wondering about the in line vs the speaker line setup. I have read reviews of this sysyem and they seem split on how they set it up. I will be using their 8' sub by...
I too have used the test tones on my receiver,. but read where it is better to use the disc on DVD seeing as it is DVDs that I watch the most. Any thoughts?
Hi all. Now I am confused about my calibration using the radio shack analog meter. I have the Denon 2800 and I load the Avia disc, bring up the test tones, pause them, and switch over to video 1 and bring up my receivers test tones and adjust them. then, jump back to my dvd input and run the...
Anyone out there have a Pioneer DVL 700? I have one that is good condition I think, but I can't get a very good picture when playing through my Tosh 65H80. I have tried s video as well as composite inputs. I have a blurriness in the upper half of my screen. I run it through a video input and...
Hello out there. Could someone shine some light on the question of how to hook up the sub to my new Energy 5.2's. The manual and alot of threads say to use the sub out on my Denon 2800. Material that I read from Polk says that for sat/sub systems you should not use that, and run them throuhg the...
With a smaller sat/sub speaker system, is it better to run the speakers to the sub and not use the sub-out on a Denon reciever? I read this and was wondering which way is best? Thanks
could poor or cheap component cables render a darker picture for my dvds and hd reception? With my set properly set to my Avia eye, those displays look too dark to watch.
Thanks for help guys. Not too many trees, and I'm about 35 miles from Roxburough NJ, the home of the towers. I will try to move the baby around, and see what happens. I do have my Hughes on top of other units on top of my HDTV, so I'll relocate that too. Cant go too far though because my...
Thaks for the quick reply. I would say that its all the time, however I just today connected mt RS dble bowtie antenna to it and watched for a few moments. Ther was not and consistent picture though. 15 secs on, 10 secs off, so on. I guess that since I got some picture that i have an ok...
Could someone explain why I may be getting video and audio dropouts with my new Hughes hd receiver. The piture looks great, but every few seconds this occurs. Thanks to all that help
Hello out there. Gregg is hitting me in May, And I cant wait. My wife love my Tosh 65h80, and she cant understand why it needs work. I did some stuff myself, like glare screen, 56 pt converg., diable svm, duvatine lens hood. But after reading some of the posts about Gregg, it sounds...
