Think it's coincidence that the Wharfedale Pacific line which also had the top mounted tweeter, was also redesigned with a traditional mounting ? Trade dress infringement is quite real.
LOL... I bought my Bose am-7's at Daytons (now Marshall Fields) 11 years ago and I'm now finally going to retire them. At the time I didn't know any better, I bit like so many do. If they still had an electionics dept., I'd try to return them :)
I've noticed the same thing. I recently bought an SVS 25-31PCi and it seems the "auto-on/off" signal threshold is set too high. While watching TV at "normal" volumes, the Sub will turn off after a while. I have to crank the volume up or get up and flip the switch to "on".
First, Welcome to HTF Mike. To elaborate on Tom's reply, there are many more respected speaker manufactures that would most likely out perform the Sony's at that price (at least here in the US). Are there Electronics stores there with a good selection that you can audition ? Keep up the research...
John,
Did you pick up an SPL meter($40) from RS ?
See SVS's site for how and WHY you should use it
to calibrate your new sub. Let us know how it sounds!
I'll be wait'n a while longer for my 25-31PCi, SVS is waiting on more drivers.
Ok, Let's all try to be very patient here. Come-on, Come-on, I need some bass...
Thank you Tom and Ron, for your (as usual) great customer service in keeping us up-to-the-minute on our orders.
See ya...
You HAVE to use the correct replacement or you could damage the amp. Get back down to RS and get part number 270-1066
'slow-blow' 5x20mm glass fuse (4.0 amp 250 volts).

The SVS manual calls for RS part number 270-1066 (4.0 amp 250 volt), which I'm sure is what you got. What a bummer, maybe you should try that paper clip now.
