Cleopatra has been a fixture on Disney+ since the streaming setvice lauched, so perhaps it will eventually get a new 4K remaster, if not a 4K UHD disc release.
The BBC is working on a three-part documentary series on Elizabeth Taylor, tentatively titled "Elizabeth Taylor: Rebel Superstar," to be executive produced by Kim Kardashian:

I'm hoping that the rights issue holding up the Paramount film Ash Wednesday (1973), starring Elizabeth Taylor and Henry Fonda, can be resolved and the film released on Blu-ray by Kino. It might have something to do with the Ray Charles song Ruby, which was replaced on the VHS, the last time it...
Thank you for the kind words, Philip! I can hardly believe that nearly 13 years have no gone by since I started this thread. After hearing Mr. Feltenstein on the Home Theater United podcast last year, I'm still cautiously optimistic that we will see it on Blu-ray one day:
"It's going to take a...
I think if we see Gone with the Wind on 4K next year, it will be in honour of the film's 85th anniversary rather than MGM's centenary. MGM was only the film's distributor... it was a Selznick International Picture. Either way, I hope we see it! :)
As for Columbia, I'd love to see The Taming of...
I nearly didn't see this film based on the trailer but I went anyway and loved it. It's as loosely based on "Hallowe'en Party" as it could possibly be, but a lot of fun and wonderfully atmospheric. Easily my favourite of the three Branagh Poirot films... I enjoyed "Orient Express" but thought...

Mine's out for delivery now from Amazon Canada! Can't wait to watch it this evening. The anticipation reminds me of going to pick up the VHS that I had on pre-order after school when I was 8 in 1994.
A Blu-ray.com member has shared that "Gone with the Wind" is now streaming in 4K on Max. Apparently the yellow that plagued the Blu-ray is now gone. Max isn't available in Canada so unfortunately I'm not able to compare.
Thanks for the great review, Matt! I saw the new master on TCM last Christmas and it looks gorgeous. While it may be some time before I revisit the film again, I purchased the Blu-ray to show my support for WAC and the amazing work that they're doing!
I'm thrilled we're finally getting Elephant Walk, but disappointed that it doesn't seem to be from a new scan. I wonder if this will be a Secret of the Incas scenario where Kino will announce its own release from a 4K scan shortly after.
The Taming of the Shrew (1967) is another Columbia title that's MIA on Blu-ray. I bought the HD digital on iTunes a few years back, and I think it looks very nice. I'm still hoping we'll see it on Blu-ray one day.
In most cases I'll rent a film I haven't seen before through iTunes. However, if it's an important restoration, especially something released through the Warner Archive, I'm more inclined to purchase the disc in hopes that my support will help other older films get a similar treatment and find...
Great review as always, Matt! I always hoped but never thought I'd see this one looking so good. You've really whetted my appetite for my copy to hurry up and get here... it can't come soon enough! :)
