Don't worry. I am. :) I would trust info from the marketing site run by the distributor long before I'd trust any of those e-tailers. I've never been steered wrong by video.com when it comes to specs for BVHE DVD releases.

Kevin, Beware. I ordered the so-called 1.85/1.33 version from Amazon.ca, but when it arrived it was the 1.33-only version. It turns out that no 1.85 version exists for sale in Canada. Apparently BVHE made this decision without notifying any retailers. Nice.

How so? The original releases ran to 14 discs (7 two-disc sets) and the graphic you included says it's on 14 discs.

Is the scheduling of Smallville opposite The West Wing specific to your town/region? I'm just curious, as I know that in the Eastern and Pacific time zones Smallville is on at 8pm and The West Wing is on at 9pm.

Marc, I think you just got unlucky. I received my set today (Canadian release, from Future Shop) and the transfer looks absolutely marvelous. You should return that puppy right away! Andrew

Don't be concerned by it disappearing from the Amazon.ca website. That happens all of the time with imports. If you had your order in before it was removed from the site, then your order will be fulfilled. Amazon.ca only orders a certain number of each import title, and once all of those...

Perhaps I've just been lucky, but I've only had to return 3 discs as defective out of the 1600+ DVDs that I own. That doesn't mean that I haven't received many discs with small scratches or minor smudging, but they always play just fine and thus are not defective.

Dan, It worked for me, although it took a couple of tries. I had to slide it around in the tray until it "clicked" into place, after which it loaded up fine. Hope this helps. Andrew

118 unwatched out of 1130. Unfortunately, I continue to acquire much faster than I can watch, so the unwatched percentage is increasing with every passing week... mostly because of those damn TV-on-DVD season sets. :)
