Kevin, the av9000 does have a 5.1 chnl input for thing like sacd or dvd-a. As you said, you "see only a center, sub woofer, and l/r surrounds" in their own space and not a L/R any where. Don't loose hope on this. Marantz shares these channels with the TV's audio input. This is the fact...

Guy, I order the cs+/s1000 and got a standard 3ft 1/4 to 1/4 cable and an 1/4 to RCA adapter. It is not a Better Cable unless you get the Ultra.

The amp will be placed in the equipment shelf, which is ~ 9ft away from the sitting. If the fan noise described by Doug is so gentle, I think I can live with that. Dont we all know how the desk top computer sound like, right? That is annoying as heck :frowning: BTW, thanks all for your input.
