I think you can adjust that by going into the setup menu of the player. You can either select 4:3 normal, 4:3pan/scan, 16:9 auto, 16:9 normal. I forgot if it's Preference 1 or Preference 2 tab...hope this helps.

I have the JVC-XVS75GD Progressive Scan DVD, I can't really tell the difference between the i or the p mode. Maybe it's my Sony RPTV that automatically upgrades the signal to progressive using the DRC circuitry.
I e-mailed Silicon Image about this and I got a reply saying the most we can get on analog connections from "Premium" (HBO movies, etc) content movies, is 480p. She is still unsure if the Hollywood boys are going to continue to air analog 1080i broadcasts. We all now know that Sony's fall TV...
I'm with Jeremy here. I had to replace those "stock" cables that came with my JVC progressive scan DVD because the signal on the 5.1 output rears kept going out. I don't know why I even bothered using it in the first place. :frowning:
I have always used my ears as my own benchmark, but it's nice to know that there's stuff available out there to confirm or verify what I'm hearing - or - at least know where I stand. Thanks. :emoji_thumbsup:
Ok fellas, I have just replaced the Bose rears with a pair of Kenwood 3-way tower speakers. Not the best, but the sound is definitely improved. Just got done watching "Gladiator" again... ;) Thanks for the info.
I've used wire looms you can get from AutoZone. It comes in different sizes, really easy to put on and take off. Also get plastic ties while you're there... :)
Ooops, I said the "B" word. :D Come on now, it's not that bad, really. Actually, I'm looking into replacing it with a Polk or maybe another JBL monitor.
