The shipping store that I use recently told me that the incidence of boxes destroyed by UPS has been going up, and that they almost never pay on insurance claims.
I agree. I am currently enjoying a Denon 1802 with VR-M60's, and the combination sounds really good to my ears. Of course, I'd love to upgrade to a more powerful receiver ;-)
Just a vote in favor of M60's - I have a pair and absolutely love them. I have been known to burst into grins listening to old favorites, just because they sound so phenomenally good to me.
You might want to consider using an Audiotron to play your MP3s on your HT. I have well over 4,000 MP3's, and the Audiotron does an excellent job. It doesn't actually store any files, it allows you to play the files stored on your pc/server.

That looks very interesting. I have been planning on getting an Audiotron, and linking it via 802.11b (Linksys WAP11) to my Lan.
This might be a better solution...
I can't find a reference to the HAR-D1000 either on Sony's site or at Circuit City.
Can anyone send me a link?
The Onkyo looks interesting, although pricey at $800.
I was in your position a couple of weeks ago. After I got over the shock of how unbelievably big it was, I just fell in love with it.
It rocks- you are going to love it!
I currently have a Denon 1802 driving a pair of Boston Acoustics VR-M60 fronts, a VR-MC Center, Energy Take2 surrounds and a SVS 20-39PC. The setup sounds good, but the receiver seems to lack oomph (power).
I am about 70% music, 30% HT. I would like to improve the sound quality, volume and...
My PSX2 has fantastic sound through my Denon 1801 receiver, but I really miss listening to CDs while I play.
I can hook the PSX2 up to the TV and play music through my receiver, but then I lose the benefit of PSX2's Dolby sound and it plays through my TV speakers which suck.
How have others...
