Aaron, I understand what your saying but my question is: Does the Denon 2900 (when using the analog outputs) output a subwoofer signal when playing a regular CD. I know the 2900 has bass management, but I'm not quite sure how it works. Can some Denon 2900 owners offer some input...
Aaron, Thanks for your input. Question: Will I be able to use the 2900's bass management to utilize my sub through the 5.1 multi channel hookups on the sony da4es? If I have the Sony DA4ES in pure analog direct mode will it receive a .1 signal from the denon 2900 when I play a cd?
I considering the Denon DVD 2900 for cd playback. Question: Are the DACs in the Denon 2900 noticably better than the DACs in the Sony DA4ES receiver? Any input would be appreciated.
MikeTz I haven't heard back from Bryston yet after I emailed them. BTW my 3B ST was brand new, never used and was manufactured in May 2000. According to the seller it has been in warehouse storage until I bought it a few weeks ago. Question: Does an amplifier have to "break in"...
Mike, I do have a HSU VTF-2 subwoofer in my system. I have tryed crossing it over as high as 120 Hz using the sony da4es's very flexible bass management. Surprisingly or not the clipping indicator lights on the Bryston still flashed red at exactly the same points in the music at the same SPL...
I really appreciate all the input. I measured the spl with a radio shack meter and the peaks in the music when the amp starts to clip are at 100-103 db. So I can't even reach reference levels without clipping the Bryston. I just thought I would have a little more headroom than that. I...
Thanks for the replys guys! Okay I hooked the Bryston up to my Paradigm Studio 40's using bare wire ends. (10 gauge monster speaker wire) My room is about 2500 cubic feet but it has 10x10 foot openings to the kitchen and the foyer. The kitchen and the foyer add another 2500 cubic feet for...
Hi all, Well, I just hooked up my Bryston 3b st to my paradigm studio 40's using a sony da4es as a preamp. I must say the combo sound awesome! Extremely smooth and detailed, much smoother and less harsh than with my onkyo 595 amps. Anyway I love the sound, but the clipping indicator...
I just got a pair of Paradigm Studio 40's and hooked them up to my Onkyo 595; They sound pretty good but the 40's could definetly use more power. I would really like to pair the 40's with a seperate 2 channel amp. Darn it, I knew skimping on a receiver without pre outs would come back to bite...
John, I guess I don't know how the amps on the Onkyo work. I assumed all channels will be putting out their rated 85 watts, so if I wire my speakers as I descibed above, the 40's would effectively be getting 170 watts total. (max) Or maybe I just don't understand biamping and biwiring...
After about a year of reading reviews on this and other forums and websites, and after listening to them myself, I have finally purchased a pair of Paradigm Studio 40's. (don't have them yet) :frowning: I was wondering if it's a good idea to biwire/biamp the 40's using the "Speaker B" outputs...
