Hey Sami, what you are forgetting is that Plasma pixels are rectangular, NOT square like LCD, therefore the resolution is a 16:9 resolution, rather than a 4:3
Greg, the sub has been marked down from it's original price of $299 (first to $200, now to $100). Price is often misleading. But the OP didn't ask for a reccommendation, he asked about the S20. It's not my main room sub (it's in a second room), but it's very nice. It's also highly adjustable...
Greg, excuse me if I'm wrong, but it appears as though you are making a reccommendation without having heard the model the OP is referring to (and as such, not being entirely helpful). I have the Celestion S-20. It's a very decent sub for the price. It's a bit boomy and hollow (which I...
I'd like to tame some of the boominess (or hollowness) out of a sub. I got some pillow stuffing at Walmart. What do I need to know about adding it inside? Anything I should make sure it doesn't touch? How much should I use? Can I overstuff it? Thanks!!
If it will help, here are my speakers. This is my bedroom setup, I fortunately do not have this problem with my main setup! http://onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=SKS-...ss=Speaker&p=i
One thing I forgot to mention...I DO NOT plan on putting the back on the unit. So the back of where the speaker is will be open space. Will that have any difference?
Thank you for the info John. This is my bedroom setup (although most of the time my main one because of my other roommates don't often share my tatses in viewing material), so optimal sound quality isn't a huge concern, but it would bother me if the vocals sounded "left" or "right" rather than...
Since the dialogue comes from the center, I'm concerned that voices would sound like they are "off-centered" (for lack of a better term) if it were not under the TV.
I realize that's probably the optimal placement, but I'll be moving soon, and found a entertainment center that I really like. The problem is that it's shaped like a rectangle, divided into an even four spaces. My center speaker would go into one of the top panels (fits really nicely...
Normally, on a Wega, you can access the service menu by pressing in succsession Display - 5 - Vol UP - Power. This is the brand new model for 2004 and it seems to not be working. Is there another code for it?
Hello all. I am putting together a group buy on PakPal cases over at DVDTalk.com. This buy is for the slim double and triple cases at this time. Here is the link: http://www.dvdtalk.com/forum/showthr...hreadid=353095 I hope to order as soon as possible. If you are interested, please give...
I have a Yahama 8" 120-Watt Powered Subwoofer and I'd appreciate some modification advice in "tightening up" the sound. It's hard to describe the sound. I would go with "airy" and "hollow", meaning that it sounds like the bass is not crisp but unfocused. It does not sound "floppy". Can...

Thanks for the responses. I have a bigger, nicer sub, but my current situation dictates that I use the 8" for now (and it's all I really need). I decided to put it in the corner, and it sounds pretty decent. I'm going to stick with the solo bassola for now.
I'm considering purchasing another sub to run with my system. It would be placed like so SPEAKER SPEAKER SUB ___________TV______________SUB (PRESENT LOCATION) What benefits would this have? Also, would having two subs up front be okay, or would it not have any real effect?
I'm setting up my sub, and presently have both the receiver and sub set on reverse. I thought it sounded better. Is this a bad idea? I'm not sure of the phasing of my speakers, but I do have the + terminals hooked into the + terminals of the speakers (and vice-versa for the -). So I assume they...
It's a Cerwin Vega LS-10 (my speakers). I highly doubt it will vibrate off. The Cerwins are big boys, and the sub is only 8" (their footprints nearly match). Besides, I would definitely notice and I detected no physical vibrations on the top of the sub when I pumped it (it's down firing)...
I wasn't happy with my subwoofer placement, so I decided to move it around. I settled on a front position. Now for the problem...there's NO room to put it where I want it (or really anywhere else for that matter). The situation as such means that I presently am putting my rather large CV...
Hello all, I need your advice / help. I have floorstanding speakers that really need about 12" - 18" boost off the ground. I'm curious if there are any options for me. I've seen 24" models, but that would be too high (probably). Thanks!
I've been upgrading my system over the past few months, and I've been replacing speakers piecemeal. I was curious if it was alright to have different manufactuers for the center, front and rear speakers (obviously, the front and rears are matched sets themselves).
Thanks!
