Question on how laserdisc audio works

My Pioneer 503 has a digital audio output in addition to the two analog audio outputs. I use the single digital to feed a digital input on my reciever specifically marked for laserdisc players. The AC3 or other digital signals come through that cable and the reciever deals with them from...

    Questions regarding dvd recorders?...

The Pan. E20 in XP mode, which gives one hour per disc, records in very nearly the quality of the input. I've transferred some laserdiscs to DVD and can see only a slight difference between the copy and the original.

Will A front projector work well?

Rainbow effect on DLP projectors shows up often when you blink or shift your field of vision. It looks like a three color rainbow where white meets dark sections. This problem doesn't seem to effect the Sharpvision 9000 because it uses a different color wheel setup. I've seen it on a couple...

Will A front projector work well?

I've had 3 FPTV's and loved them all. First, the black level problem: Sharpvision beats the other LCD projectors hands down. Even the mag reviews state that a grayscreen is not needed for the newer Sharps because they have such good black levels. I now have a DLP, the 9000, and it doesn't...

Question re:Panasonic dmr-e20 and recording off tv...

Don't expect good picture quality with the two hour per disk setting. Using the highest quality setting, one hour per disk, the picture quailty seems very close to the original source, but anything less shows definite loss of quality.

    What is AT&T Broadband DIGITAL?

Been using AT&T digital cable for a while and decided to try a Dish. Bad move. The cable reciever has only composit outputs while the dish receiver has S-video out. The cable picture looks better on virtually every channel. Unfortunately, few of the channels have good picture quality anyway.

    DVD-R compatability

I looked at the list of incompatibles, and I own two of the models listed, but they both play DVD-R just fine as long as the disks are finalized. (recorded on Panasonic E20). My Sony NS700 also plays them with no problems.

    Help choosing a projector

I've been using a Sharp 9000 for some months and just love it to death. I've seen several other kinds and, subjectively, they don't seem to be as good on the black levels. On screens: I use the cheapest screen available, a well finished and painted wall. No creases, no wrinkles. My...

    Laserdisc basics ... any pointers?

To Jay S. I can't quite agree with you that good lasers are equal to LBX DVDs, but I suppose it would depend on the display device used, as well as the LD player. I've got an old Pioneer CLD-D504. Anybody have opinions on this model? I would appreciate them, since I, too, am preparing to...

    Front Screen Projectors 101?

I've had 3 front projectors--I'm using a Sharpvision 9000U DLP right now and flat-out love it. In comparing projectors, most will give a sharp picture, but contrast/black level is a big consideration in how enjoyable the picture is. I've seen several setups, including the Sony 10H LCD, which...
