I dont have a dpl-2x reciver (but a 3802), so i'm only gessing: With a dd/dts signal, the system locks to that procesing. dpl is available as an option with stereo sources. when a dd/dts dvd is playing, the 3802 wont switch to dpl/neo6. Also, with a dd stereo signal coming from the dvd...

i'm not using the dimmers with the tv!!!! that's not what i meant... i meant, can the (expensive) tv set be harmed by the noise in the current (seen on its screen). the tv is plugged into a separate socket, in the same room as the dimmers. thanks for your help anyway!

Thanks Ethan I guess I'll have to install variable transformers as you explain. We have 220v in israel. I have an uncle who's an engineer, he will read your explanations, as I've no clue about electricity. He also (as you suggest) installed a regular switch to turn the dimmers on and off...

For setting your reciever and than leaving it set for 2/3 years, untill you replace it, why would i need this feature? both these machines seems close in specs, weigh about the same (17kg), which can hint at amp section size, but the denon has extra channels (7.1). i would a/b them...

VinnieR, shouldnt the store call you up, recalling the bad speaker from their own initiative, not waiting for you to call them first??? nice story telling, anyway!...:-)

with these speakers, a 4802 is the least you can use. i mean, these are big, quality speakers, that deserve good amplification. 1200 seems low for 4802, no? btw, my 3802 is doing a good job driving studio's 60's.

sounds a bit messy to me; going from a digital stream (sacd) to analog in the sacd player, than back to digital in the recivers chips. why cant it stay digital all the way. let the player read the info, and one machine decipher it. no?

i heard rumors about extra speakers formats, like speakers on the cieling and stuff, 10.2 is the future... wife cant stand 5.1, so i'm not going to hang anything from the cieling yet...;)
